Riley's POV
Just gone to get shaving cream and hair gel.
From, Lucas
I sigh, and collapse onto the tiny crimson armchair, absolutely exhausted. My head is spinning faster than a rollercoaster, and my eyes trail over to a scrapbook lying on the coffee table.
A small smile creeps across my lips as I flip through the glue stained pages. Photos of Lucas and I are clumsily pasted across yellow parchment. Silly notes he's written to me in the past.
I'm your cowboy.
Hello Smiley.
There's a rainbow outside for you princess.
Happy Birthday. Everyday is better with you.
I hold my head in my hands and sigh again.
Lucas is changing.
Suddenly, the trill of my phone rings through my ears.
"Auntie Riley?"
My little penguin's voice rings through the empty apartment, and I feel warmth spread inside me.
"Hey Luke?"
"Auntie Riley?"
"Yeah?"
"I can't find my mum."
