12 years after the promise

I forgot mother's day.
I always forget mother's day.
And this year, my mom got really upset.
To make it up to her, my dad and I went flower shopping, making her think that we were just going to buy cheese or something.
At 8 hours 13 fucking minutes pm.
Having an i-dont-give-a-shit-do-what-makes-you-happy mother was a blessing and a curse.

For the situation I was in, it sure was a blessing because holy crap she's annoying when she's mad.

The minute we got in the car,  it started to rain.
Light rain, but I knew that it was going to get worst and ruin my hair.

My dad decided to stop at an old and tiny flower shop for some reason.

"Dad, this shop is shit." I said, pulling him back into the driver's seat.

"You never know." He answered.

As we got in, my dad faced me and I gave him the 'I told you so' look.

The message of cards were yellowish on the sides due to age, the flowers were incredibly tacky, and the shop basically sold lots of random useless old stuff.

The old lady was friendly. We couldn't just leave without buying anything,so we got an "All About Balloons" Torch 2010.

"Dad why the fudge didn't you buy a card? What is this book?" I said, scratching the sticky dust or glue or whatever that substance was on the edges of each page.

"I'm tired, little spider."

"Dad please, I'm 19. You should start calling me by my name. Not "little spider". "

"No matter how old you are, you'll always be my little spider."

"Even when I'm 30?"

"Even when you're 45."

I rolled my eyes at his cheesiness.

"Hey, why don't we go to the flower shop held by the two gay brothers. Pleaaaase! Even though it's a little far away, it's so worth it. They have the best flowers ever. And they are gay. How cool is that?" I said excitedly.

"Okay. I'm not sure if they are open. It's already 9 pm."

"Don't worry, they close later than the other shops."

I gave him the directions to the florist, and the rain was getting weaker. What a relief.

"There you go. " He said, handing me the money. "I'll wait in the car."

I haven't been there for ages.
I was so amazed by the flowers displayed in the showcase that I tripped and fell, then pushed the door while it clearly had the "PULL" sticker.

These flowers really had an effect on me I guess.

"Helloooo~" I said joyfully.

One of the brothers greeted me and showed me around. I knew the place. Nothing had changed.

After 20 minutes of snooping  and searching each corner of the shop, I got on my tippy toes to reach for a pot with tiny purple flowers displayed on a high shelf.

"Let me help you with that." I heard a voice say, and next thing I knew the pot was in front of me.

"Oh hum thanks." I said awkwardly.

Before I could even see the face of my helper, he had already walked away.

I want to see his face...

My creepy stalker side awakened, so I ran and "accidentally" tripped and fell in front of him.

"Careful sweetheart~" one of the brothers said.

"You're as clumsy as the last time we saw you!" the other laughed.

I tilted my head up to see a hand reaching for mine, helping me stand up.

"Ooh tight grip!" The boy said.

I looked at him.

"Thank you for helping me... hum...stand up."

Why am I so embarrassing?

He smiled rectangularly and walked away to the register.

He took out his wallet from his coat's pocket and payed for a rose bouquet.

He must've forgotten mother's day too...

"Name and phone number please." the cashier said.

"Kim Taehyung. I'd rather not give out my phone number, I don't really like receiving advertisement messages."

"As you wish."

He walked out of the shop, took his umbrella, and pulled the door even though the sticker clearly said "PUSH".

I put my hand in my jean's pocket, and took a chocolate wrapper out of it.

No way.
