Chapter 4: On The Run

As soon as we step into the school building, the memories return. I consider telling Dylan what happened but I realized it was best to keep it to myself.
After a while, the bell for the next class goes. I have math next.

The school day went by fast and the next thing I knew I was in science class.

"Alright, every one pick a partner" said Mr. Rein

I scanned the room for anyone worth dissecting frogs with. Let's see, Jenna, no.
Ann, no.

"Wanna be my partner?" Asked a voice but I was too busy scanning to really notice.

"No." I replied, thinking it was Ann. But that was a really bad guess considering the fact that it was a male voice I heard.

"Ok then." Said the voice, sounding a bit dissapointed.

Then I turn around. Of course it was Adam, the smartest guy in our class. He wanted to be a surgeon and honestly, he was in the best direction.

"I would love to be your partner" I said quickly.

" I thought you said no." He replied.

"I wasn't talking to you." I said ad he gave this confused look.

"I mean, I was talking to you but not about you. I didn't mean you. I mean, I meant you just not; you."

He looked even more confused.

"How about we just start over." I said.

"Ah... Sure." He replied.

"Hey, wanna be my science partner."

"Sure." I reply, smiling.

"Alright." Said Mr. Rein after a period of silence because everyone had a partner already.

"If everyone has a partner, then we shall begin."

Then he started his lesson. I spent half of it staring at Adam and the other half trying to concentrate. Then suddenly Sally walks into the room and talks to Mr. Rein for a while.

The next thing I know, they're looking at me then Mr. Rein points and says "Mrs. Wells would like to see you."

"No." I reply. I didn't mean to, guess it was reflex. But I didn't feel bad or take it back.

"Excuse me?" Said Mr. Rein.

"I'm sorry, but I don't want to see her."

Mr. Rein looked a but angry and said "Go and see her NOW."

I stood up, defeated but Adam pulled me back down.

"She said, no" said Adam.

Mr. Rein just lookee lost and talked to Sally again and she left.

"Thanks." I said

"No problem." Adam replied

"Read the whole of chapter 5" said Mr. Rein qe the bell went.

I pqckee my books and left the class quickly and Adam caught up with me.

"So, what was all that about?"

"All what?" I asked. Dumb question.

"You know what." He replied.

"Nothing." I said.

"I just didn't want to see her."

"Yeah, but why?" He asked.

"Not important." I replied.

We were now in the parking lot.

Suddenly, I saw Sally walking towards us.

"Can you give me a ride home?" I asked.

"Uhhh... Sure." He replied.

Then we got in the car. I was just about to close the door when Sally stopped me.

"Jacky, can I see you please" She said.

"Don't all me that." I replied.
"And the answer is still no." I said.

"Leave her alone." Said Adam.

"Or I'll call the police. I could have you arrested for harrasing a student." He said.

"Fine." Said Sally.

Then she walked away.

I turned to see her walking away the. She suddenly tur we around and mouthed

"You can't hide forever."
