So, lots of people are commenting about how young Lyliah is when she starts doing bad things to herself. Yes, she is young, but to me its more of understanding her. She's a child who needs attention and the boys hadn't been giving her that. She was raising herself and a baby all at once at that young age. So yes, she is six, but she is much more mature for her age. The point of the story is to see how Liah grows up. She starts off as a child that's way too mature for her age, growing up and becoming more of an age appropriate young woman. Just wanted to clear that up for anybody that was confused.
