It All Started At the Library

Chapter 2

It had been a week since the unfortunate encounter with Noah and I was unable to get him off of my mind. I wasn't able to get rid of those thoughts clouded with his handsome face.

All I could think of were those blue eyes , which I used to see the whole world in and brown hair that I used to ruffle playfully. Those years away had done him well.

I shook my head and went into the kitchen to prepare dinner.I was living with my best friend Paula, whom I had met in my junior year at high school. She had helped me get over Noah during that taxing time and had not left my side even once.

We kept in touch all through college meeting each other whenever we could and as soon as I got a job oppotunity in the city where she was still doing her med school I didn't think twice before accepting it.

I had finished making dinner and was setting the table when she came.

"Hey Espin.", she looked at the table and said ,"You didn't have to do all that ! You should be preparing for your first day at work tomorrow."

"And I am, by relieving my stress through the art of cooking."

She shakes her head, "Ok well whatever you say.Now come on lets eat."

After eating dinner I ended up falling asleep while she was telling me about her day.

"Espin! Wake up !Today's your first day at work!"

I woke up with butterflies in my stomach as I realized it was my first day at work. I gave Paula a grateful smile for waking me up and went into the bathroom to get ready.

After I took a shower and came into the bedroom I saw that Paula had already chosen an outfit for me to wear to work. It was a white pencil skirt with a peach blouse.

It was a bit too figure hugging and wasn't something that I would usually wear but I didn't want to disappoint Paula so I put it on.

"Paula I'm leaving." I called out as I grabbed my laptop bag and purse.

"Ok. Well all the best for today and don't get nervous you know that you're really good at what you do. That's why you got this offer in the first place. So just wear a big bright smile and show them who they're working with."

"Thanks! " , I gave her a hug and left.

I looked up at the enormous building and wondered how I snagged a job here. After all I wasn't that experienced yet. And they usually recruit adept naval architects in such companies.

I went upto the receptionist, she seemed to be young and looked quite pretty .

"Excuse me, Hi today's my first day at work . My name is Espin. Who do I have to report to ?"

"Hello, my name is Lindsay , nice to meet you Espin. You're the new addition for the Palm exotic cruise project right?"

"Yes, I am ", I replied.

"Ok well follow me I have orders to take you directly to the CEO before you start your day. You seem to be quite special." , she said.

Confused I asked, "The CEO? Why him? Can't I report to someone of lower order? Its just my first day today."

" I know I'm sorry honey but there's nothing I can do , this was a direct order from the CEO himself."

Oh my god, I had to meet the CEO? What was I going to say? I wasn't prepared for this. Feeling extremely on edge with no other option I followed Lindsay to the CEO's office.

"No need to knock just go inside , I already informed him of your arrival ." , she said once we reached.

I opened the door and went inside. There wasn't anyone sitting on the desk so I sat on the couch and waited for the CEO to show up.

"Hello Ms.Jones."

"Noah", I gasped.

Hey!!! How did you like this chapter? I would love some feedback . And I'm uploading this book on anoher account as well because wattpad has this glitch where sometimes stories might get deleted by accident so I'm doing that so I don't have to startover again.
