Sorry for the late update guys! Keep in mind that this isn't my main story, so it won't get updated like the rest (sadly because I really enjoy writing this). I am mostly working on my oneshots right now :3 Haha

Cameron's POV (The First)

“Jones?” I laughed through my cell. “Looks like you’re not the only one who has to deal with an unmanageable new partner.”

“What do you mean?” Alex asked in his indifferent tone. Then I realized I still hadn’t told him about Jessie.

“Well, some of my new coworkers have horrible partners,” I lied.

Alex stayed silent, but eventually said, “Oh, I see.”

“Yeah,” I tried to laugh off, mentally hitting my head against a wall. I had just lied to the person I loved most in this world. I am the worst. “Alex? I have to go now. Night. Love you.”

He sighed. “Fine. I guess I’ll let you go. Love you too, idiot.”

Click.

What would I ever do without this idiot-loving moron?

“Hey handsome.” Two arms wrapped themselves around my shoulders, a giggle escaping my attacker. “I thought you’d never get here.”

“Jesse, if you don’t release me, I’ll report you for sexual harassment.” I was dead serious. “This is my job, so I’m here to do whatever your department needs me to do, then I’m gone.”

She pouted, released her hold, and muttered something I couldn’t hear. “You’re no fun,” she whined, clenching her fists. “I deal with murderers everyday, why can’t I just let go and have fun once in a while?”

“You can, but do it on your own time. Don’t mix business with pleasure.” I headed through the department doors. I had already been here for a week working on the same case with no breakthroughs. I missed my bed, my apartment, and my cute little Alex.

“Didn’t you say you were dating your co-worker? Your male co-worker?” She stuck her nose in the air, following me into the building. “I don’t see why you can’t just date me too-”

I stopped and turned around, glaring at her. “I am serious about reporting you,” I said, “and I love Alex with everything I have. Don’t talk about him like he’s just some piece of ass I decide to do every once in a while because he’s much more than that.”

She held up her hand in mock defeat. “Woah, Cam-Cam. I didn’t mean it like that.” She put a daring hand on my shoulder. “I was just suggesting a female might better suit your taste, that’s all.”

I brushed off her touch. “No, thank you. Alex suits my tastes just fine.”

She sighed. “If you say so, but I won’t give up on you Cam-Cam.” I clenched my teeth at the nickname. “That Alex character better watch out before long..” her voice trailed off as she went skipping down the opposite hall. I counted my blessings that I didn’t have to deal with her anymore. You see her personality? It’s precisely why I didn’t tell Alex about her.

I took the elevator to the lowest floor, or most commonly known as the “Necropolis”. It’s where the ME did all his amazing handy work on all the bodies we brought in. He is a little on the psycho side, but is an expert in his field. Which is surprising. Especially when he was only a few years older than me.

“Ahh, Mr. West. It’s a pleasure to see your healthy body this early in the morning. To what do I owe this special occasion?” Dr. Klein, the ME, said as he stepped out from behind an operating table. His once white lab coat was covered in yellowish-red blood.
