Prologue:
A young girl, no more than the age of five, went flying through the air of the basement she and another woman, this one no more than twenty-nine, stood in- her technically flying at the moment. A loud SMACK sounded through out the basement as the girl hit the wall and fell to the ground with a loud thud. She groaned in pain as she flipped her long, waist length fiery red hair over her shoulders, revealing a pair of eyes that made people think of of an iced-jade green and a stormy sea blue colour had that mixed together. She used those jade sea blue eyes to glare over at the other woman, who looked almost like an older sister, being identicle in looks, only the other womans eyes were like honeyed hazel, and her own, curly, fiery red hair only reached her shoulders. But she wasn't an older sister. She was the young girl's mother. A mother who was a formidable opponent and Leathal Hunter of the Supernaturals. A mother whose specialty in the field were Vampires, Werewolf's, and Shape-shifters, three species that made up the daughter before her.
A mother who was currently glaring scoldingly at her daughter.
"Your dead," she snapped, speaking of the fact that she had failed to complete the training exercise that her mother had just made her do. "You have to be quicker than that," she continued to scold her daughter as she crossed her pale arms over her chest. "How many times have I told you that, Ravyn? Do you even LISTEN to me when I talk to you? Or do you just go off into your own little world and ignore what I'm trying to teach you?" The young girl, Ravyn Garrison, flinched at her mother's scolding. She got up and dusted off the bell-bottom faded blue jeans and black batman t-shirt, then dusted off the arms of her body, her skin a ghostly pale and lightly freckled. She glared over at her mother again and sighed. "I'm sorry mother, I-"
"What have I said?" Her mother snapped, glaring, if it were possible, with more rage and anger, lightling up her honeyed hazel eyes. Ravyn rolled her jade sea blue eyes, before answering her mother. "I'm sorry AURABELLA," she corrected. Yes, it was true that, while in the training room, she was not allowed to call her mother, "Mom", "Mother", "Momma"- and especially not "Mommy". She was only allowed to call her "Aurabella", "Madam McLeod", or "Lady Aurabella". This was to create distance between mother and daughter, making it feel more like a partnership than a familial relationship. And she had slipped up, forgotten that rule just moments ago, and called her mother. Now she was meant to apologize to Aurabella, as was the other major rule in the training room.
"I apologize for my mistake, and I shall do better to be quicker next round," she said, bowing slightly to Aurabella. Aurabella sighed but nodded, accepting the apology, and turned, heading for one of the black metal cabinets she had sitting on the far wall of the basement. She opened up the doors and pulled out two kevlar vests, much like the one's the police used and were issued in dangerous situations. Aurabella tossed one of the vest's to Ravyn, who caught it- first try- and quickly put it on, knowing how her mother hated it when she was slow and dawddling. Aurabella then went over to a second cabinet and pulled out two 9mm. semi-automatic guns, one gun metal grey, the other a midnight black colour and both of them splattered with multiple coloures of paint. She held both guns out to Ravyn, butt end first. "Choose your weapon Miss Garrison," a slight sneer entered Aurabella's voice as she said her daughter's last name, being as formal as her daughter was supposed to be with her. The sneer came from the fact that her daughter's last name was the last name of her ex-husband, Keith Garrison, a man that she had despised for five years at most now.
Ravyn didn't hesitate to grab the paint splattered midnight black 9mm., placing the weapon in the custom made shoulder holster that her mother had had designed for her. She then took the two extra paint bullet cartriges and placed them in holders on her "utility belt" as she called it. Her mother nodded and headed for a lone door at the far end of the basement that lead to the weapons training room. Ravyn quickly followed behind her mother, closing the creaking door with a soft click as she did.

~ January 22nd, 1998 ~
"Just relax little pup," Thirty-One year old Keith Garrison spoke softly in now six year old Ravyn's ear. Today keith, along with his father Steven Beck, were in a field near Don Pedro Lake, teaching Ravyn how to shift into her two animal forms. One was the wolf form she had inheritted from Keith himself, the other being an unditermined animal form from his father's genes. They did not know exactly what Ravyn would become when she used her shape-shifter powers for the first time but they did know that whatever form her soul chose, would be her only shape-shifting form. They knew with Ravyn only being part shifter she, unlike Half or full shifters, would only be able to take one form. This was all because her shifter side was halved once more than her own father who was also part shifter.
Ravyn looked back at her father and grandfather, both who were standing about ten feet away from her, a short distance to few but still far enough that they could spring into action the moment she needed them. "Can one of you shift first? Show me how its done?" She asked them tentatively. Both her family members shook their heads. "Our forms could influence your soul's choice. You have to do this on your own little kit," Steven said, smiling at his granddaughter. Ravyn sighed but nodded before kneeling down and sitting on her legs as she begn to clear her mind. She let her soul wander and seek out the form it wished for her to change into, a form that would become a permanent part of her after today.
She felt a slight tug on her soul when she heard a near by fox scurrying around by the river, most likely looking for its next meal. She smiled and tried to focus back on her tastk but for some reason her mind wouldn't wander away from the fox. She huffed in annoyance and got up from her spot, turning to face her Granfather anf Dad. "I don't think this is working guys," she said looking up at them. Wait a moment...did they suddenly get taller?
Keith and Steven both smiled down at Ravyn as they looked at her in her new form. "A fox, eh?" Steven asked, chuckling. Keith huffed but smiled all the same. "So much for having a wolf pup," he grumbled yet chuckled as well. Ravyn titled her head to the side curiously, not getting what they were talking about.. "Huh?" She asked. This made both men laugh.
"Come with me little one," her grandfather said, waving his arm. Ravyn trotted after her grandfather till they reached her father's 1969 White Ford Thunderbird. Then her grandfather did something that confused her more. He picked her up and cradled her around the belly in his arms. Ravyn squeaked at the unknown feeling but stopped when she caught sight of herself in the side mirror. Her eyes widened. "Oh my Goddess!" She exclaimed, squealing in delight as she saw the small red-orange furred fox in her refelcrion. Its ears were tipped black at the top, while the insides were white. Her chest and belly were both white and when she flicked her new tail she saw that it was the same red-orange colour as the rest of her, minus the tip which was also black. She smiled in happiness. "I did it! I really did it!" She sqealed squirming around in her grandfather's arms.
Steven and Keith both smiled at the little fox. "Yes you did dear. You are now a full blown Shape-shifter," Steven said, patting the foxes head. He set Ravyn down on the ground and opened up the door. "You wanna ride home like that?" He asked. Ravyn nodded her head. Keith nodded as well and got the old car seat she used to sit in out of the trunk. "Your going to have to sit in this then. I won't have you flying around in my car on the way home," he added as he strapped the car seat into the seat in the back. Ravyn just nodded and jumped in, letting her father strap her into the car seat before they both got int the front seats and took off, heading for home.
