Chapter Two: Jarreth Wilson
Ravyn gasped as she caught sight of the man, and then quickly looked around her surroundings. She cried out when she saw her father, Keith Garrison, bloody and bruised and being held down by four men. It was then that both she and Katerina caught sight of Katerina's mother, Ravyn's step-mother, Selene Ferrara-Garrison, laying face down on the floor beside their father, a pool of blood seeping out from beneath her chest.
"MOMMY!!" Katerina yelled at the same time Ravyn gasped. "Mom! NO!" She shrieked as she and Katerina both tried to wrestle their way out of their captor's arms so they could reach their mother. The two men held firm on the two girls and cackled in delight at their pain. The second man on the stairs laughed as well. Ravyn glared up at the man. "What the fuck is wrong with you! What do you want from my family you bastard?" She yelled, struggling harder. The man smiled maliciously again and walked over to Ravyn, kneeling down in front of her. He reached out a hand towards her and brushed a strand of hair from her face. Ravyn growled and snapped her teeth towards his hand, trying to bite him. She felt her fangs elongate down from their original K-9 forms and she growled at the man, wishing she could feel his blood sliding down her throat as she ripped it out of his body.
The man smiled again and laughed. "You've got some fire within you young Ravyn Garrison," he said, getting back up and standing before Ravyn and her sister. "How do you know my name?" She growled, glaring at the man. The man smiled once more and bent down again, getting right in her face. "I know more about you than you think young Ravyn. I know you are the true daughter of Keith Garrison and that you will become his successor to his spot on the High Council if your father were to perish," the man turned to look at Keith then. "And he just MIGHT if he doesn't do as I wish!" The man yelled at Keith, who glared back at him. "I will NEVER do what you want of me Raymond! What happened to the man I used to call a brother? You have been corrupted by power!" Ravyn's father yelled. The man's- Raymond's, as her father had called him- smile faded at these words and he sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose and closing his eyes. "You don't seem to understand what I will do if you do not comply," Raymond said, looking at Ravyn's father.
In a flash Raymond was behind Ravyn, a dagger placed at her throat and her head being wrenched back by her hair again. Ravyn made no sound as the blade was placed against her throat, the man holding Katerina doing the same. She and Katerina just stared at their father impassively, waiting for Raymond to speak. Raymond smiled at Keith from behind Ravyn and pushed harder on the blade, making a small line of blood appear on her throat. "Do you really want to see your daughters be thrown to my boys, knowing they will have fun taking their innocence before they take their lives?" Raymond asked Keith. The men around them, twenty in all it seemed, laughed at what their Alpha said, all of them hoping that Keith would say that he would not comply again so they could have the girls, just as Raymond said they could.
Keith looked over at his girls with sadness in his eyes. "I am sorry my little pups," he whispered into their minds. Ravyn and Katerina just looked at him, emotionless. "But I cannot allow Raymond to achieve what he wishes." Both Ravyn and Katerina nodded at their father. They understood completely that, even though their father was throwing them to the wolves- literally- they also knew that there was no way their father would let Raymond get what he wanted. He couldn't. He could not betray his brother's on the High Council. To do that would be like committing treason.
"We understand Dad," Ravyn and Katerina said, aloud. Raymond raised a brow at them as they spoke, not knowing that Keith had spoken to them mentally. "We would gladly give up our lives for you and the council," they added, this time mentally. Keith's eyes filled with tears before he hung his head and nodded to them. "Thank you for understanding girls," he told them mentally. Ravyn and Katerina nodded again, accepting their fates.
