Chapter 4: The Death

Wildcat and I made it back to the base safe and sound. 'After that adventure, I'm positive Wildcat is more annoyed with me than trusting...' I sighed and agreed with my thoughts, "I swear someone shot me though... I felt the pain..." I mumbled to myself.
I walked to the main room where I found someone unfamiliar to me, "Uh... Hi?" They looked at me and waved, mostly because they seemed like they were eating something, "Nhew ghuy?" He asked with a full mouth. I nodded, "I'm..." He swallowed his food, "Basically." He said now smiling. "Mini." "What's wrong with you? You were mumbling to yourself, which most likely means something is bothering you." I sigh, "Nothing. Just had a bad time trying to get Wildcat to trust me." Basically nodded, "Yeah. Wildcat is the hardest to gain trust from." "Well, at least he helped me find a way to get me glasses." I saw Basically nod and continue to eat, "Yhou nheed glaheh." I nod. "Chool."
"I gotta go. Only have a week before I'm either a member, or I die." I start to walk away, but I hear Basically stand, "Whait!" I turn around, "A wheek!? That'h not enof thime!" "What do you mean?" He swallowed his food, "It takes longer than a week to gain the trust of EVERYONE in this group. They all had bad experiences before joining, so we all have trust issues." I stayed silent.
'Those mother fuckers knew, too. Didn't they?' I sighed out of frustration, "So I am going to die anyway?" I ask. Basically just nods, "Kay. See yah!" I say and start to walk away. "Wait what? You can't just leave? Where's the person who's watching you?" I continue to walk but answer him, "Oh Wildcat? Yeah, he's pissed at me so he decided to ignore me like a little teenage girl." I said. "So he'll be happy I go missing." I head for the entrance, Basically follows, "If you leave. I will warn Vanoss." I stop and glare at him from over my shoulder, "Oh? Like a five year old? Cause that's what some of you act like." I start to climb the ladder, but was stopped by him grabbing my foot, "Who acts like a five year old?" He was glaring at me, his stare full of anger, "Oh you know, you, Wildcat, Nogla, and Delirious." I felt his grip on my foot tighten, "I would appreciate if you don't about my friends that way." "You asked." That must of sent Basically over the edge, because he pulled me off the ladder and I hit my head on the last step. I groaned in pain.
I looked up and saw his fist coming towards me, I rolled out of the way. I scrambled up and ran into the main room. 'Figures, I would forget my bag.' I thought while looking at it. I run and grab it while I hear Basically's stomping footsteps behind me.
I rush out of the main room and through winding hallways. He continued to chase me until I looped around the entire bunker and climbed quickly up the ladder. He followed.
I got to the fridge and opened it, I closed it and continued to run. I heard the door open and close, 'Shit.' I kept thinking to myself.
I ran out of the house and onto the open streets. I stumbled on some rocks, but continued to run as I heard Basically's footsteps crunching behind me.
We ran for a couple blocks before I heard a car. My eyes widened and I wanted to take cover, but if Basically catches me, I'm dead either way. The car got louder and I tried to spot where it was, but it was nowhere. My heart started to speed up, it was the wrong time to that to happen, since I am already running.
Basically chases me and chases me, while I constantly worry about that car I keep hearing. My head grows dizzy and before I could do anything else, I hear a gunshot, followed by a scream.
I slow down and turn around to find a peacekeeper, and a car. My heart dropped into my stomach.
I saw Basically lying on the ground while a peacekeeper was holding a shotgun, pointed at me.
I heart was beating in my throat and I tried to swallow it. The peacekeeper was walking straight towards me. I started to back away, but wasn't quick enough.
I tripped and fell onto my butt and crawled backwards. I looked behind the peacekeeper to try to look for Basically, but he was gone. I look back up and notice that the peacekeeper turned into him. A fist was sent flying at me, I didn't react. I couldn't react. My mind was flooded with a million thoughts all at once and I was hit. He hit my forehead with full force, I would be surprised if he didn't crack my skull. The pain spread throughout all my head and I fell fully to the ground. My eyes felt droopy, but I kept them open. I lied on the ground for a few moments wondering what the hell just happened, but that only made my head even more dizzy.
'I swear I saw Basically get shot by a peacekeeper. I saw him fall to the ground. The peacekeeper was coming for me.' As my head kept racing I felt someone grab my shoulders and rise me from the ground. I blink a few times trying to get my eyes to focus, but of course, that fails. I am unable to think or focus and before I fall asleep, I see a bunch of people surrounding me. I feel my eyes roll to the back of my head before I faint.

"What the absolute FUCK is wrong with you!?" I hear a familiar voice yell, 'It's Vanoss's voice.' I think and try to tune him out, as his yelling is only making my head pound, "He was askin' for it!" I heard Basically yell, "I don't give two shits if he was begging for it! You should not have punched him! We do not have the medical supplies to care for his ass!" Vanoss shouted, "Then throw him out!" Basically suggested, "I can't! He's seen too much to go back now!" There was a brief silence, "Then kill him." I heard Basically say.
My heart sped up and I felt my eyes open wide. The sudden bright light made my head pound again. I quickly looked around to find I was in Moo's medic room again. There was no Moo though. I tried to sit up, but my bandaged head wouldn't let me. I didn't listen to the rest of the conversation they had, so I had no idea what Vanoss's response was.
I attempt to sit up again, but again, my head hurt like a bitch. Before I got to try a third time, the door swung open and in came someone I wasn't able to recognize, as I closed my eyes and pretended to sleep. I heard whoever it was sigh and felt them put their hand on my forehead. It stayed like that for a moment, before I started to feel pressure being put on the wound. I tried to hold in the sudden scream of pain I wanted to let out, but successfully held it in. The pressure continued on and on, 'Are they trying to crush my skull?' I thought as the pain kept getting worse and worse. I felt myself wanting to drift off, but I didn't allow it. I won't let whoever is trying to kill me, get their wish.
I felt their hold tighten and tighten, I didn't know how much longer I could take of it. I was slowly slipping out of consciousness.
"Vanoss?" I heard someone at the door question, and I felt sudden relief as the pressure was lifted off my head. "Del-" "Shut up... What are you trying to do?" Delirious asked quietly. There was a moment of silence, "I was..." Vanoss took a deep breath, "I was trying to kill Mini." My heart sped up, but I kept still, "What!?" Delirious asked a little angry and a little upset, "Why!? He still has a couple more days!" "You know what happened. He is dangerous. It took him and Wildcat twice as long as it would normally take to get back when they went on the glasses hunt. He was the cause of it. Basically, in complete open so everyone can see him, he did that! He is trying to kill us." Vanoss explained. I started to get a little angry, 'Kill!? Kill!? NO! I was trying to protect Wildcat! I was trying to leave! Basically didn't have to follow me!' I yelled in my mind.
"Don't kill him..." Delirious said almost in a whisper. After he said that, there was an eerie silence. It lasted for a good five minutes. Vanoss finally spoke, "Sorry, Delirious. He cannot stay." I heard Delirious gasp as I felt something hit the side of the bed.
I suddenly opened my eyes and saw the knife that was about to come down on me.
