"they could never make me hate you"

When she got the text that said Brett and Lori were safe from the assassins, Lennon thought she was going to pass out from sheer happiness. She had tears in her eyes that blinked away after a breathy laugh escaped. A hand held onto her thrashing heart and Lennon just smiled. Brett had called her from Kira's phone, both having an extraordinary experience of love as they heard the others voice.

After an excessive amount of 'thank you's to Kira, Lennon hung up the phone and took a moment to think of all the people she couldn't bare to lose: Scott, Liam, Lydia, Malia, Kira, Brett, Lori, Stiles. It was amazing how a matter of weeks could bring a group of people together.

Lennon sighed and started walking towards Stiles' hospital room. After spending a total of one hour in Lennon's bedroom, Melissa had called the two demanding they come and get checked out. And as a matter of fact, so did Geyer. The two were forced to spend the night, no one believing that they were fine.

"I'm perfectly fine," Stiles tried to push past Melissa, but she stopped him in a heartbeat. Lennon stood behind Melissa, leaning on the frame with crossed arms. She, too, was dressed in normal clothes and was waiting to leave.

"We have to go, Melissa," Lennon's eyes were wide with fear and worry for her friends. Tapping her foot on the ground, Lennon held a sense of urgency and need. "Our friends are in trouble and they need us."

Melissa turned around and ushered Lennon with one hand to stand next to Stiles. Her expression was motherly and she wasn't taking no for an answer. "Lennon, you barely have the poison out of your system and you've got a bruise the size of Alaska on your face. You completely and totally have a concussion, Stiles, lie back down. The doctor said you're not leaving without a CT scan."

Rolling her eyes with a scoff, Lennon looked unimpressed. Her foot stomped on the ground as she shook her head right back at Melissa. "I don't know if you noticed, but in a matter of hours it'll be gone thanks to the trusty work of my friendly ghosts I have hiding in my closet."

"I still haven't paid for the last one," Stiles made another move for the door, this time his large hand wrapping around Lennon's wrist to pull her with him. He stopped when Melissa cut him off with a shake of her head and a side step.

"No, no, no, no, no," she said as she looked disappointed at the two. Her voice was firm and ended their rebellious acts. "Meredith is at the station. Your dad said it could take some time, but he'll get her to talk. Even if I let you two go, what would you do?"

The two shared a look. Lennon had taken her hand back, the tension between the two awkward since the moment they shared in Stiles' jeep. She sighed and looked to the ground as Stiles did the same, "Okay. Fine." Stiles walked over to the bed and sat back down on it as Lennon took the chair beside it. Melissa leaned on the end of the bed looking satisfied. "Can you do us one little favor?"
