Midnight Shadow threw red magic at them, bringing their HP down rather quickly. Sans and Papyrus fought alongside them bravely. But, the side comments from the TARDIS armor weren't helping. "This is impossible..." Sam sighed, looking at her companions. "it's ok, kid, we'll get through this." Sans reassured her, the same goofy grin on his face. Sam's cheeks turned a light crimson color before she returned to battle. 1/20. Sam held her breath, her SOUL about to shatter. "Look out!" Alex screeched as a ball of flame was hurled towards them. It was aimed towards Papyrus. Sans' eye instantly flashed blue. The ball of fire was sent back toward Midnight Shadow. She teleported to the other side of the room, the fire crashing into the wall. Sam and the others spun around to meet Midnight's gaze. Sam felt sick for some strange reason. Her vision blurred and she felt weaker. "HUMAN--SAM? ARE YOU OKAY?!?!?" Papyrus asked with caution. Sam shook her head. Midnight snapped her fingers and Sam's eyes turned a dark crimson color. She pulled out a real knife, a creepy smile across her face. "Let's end this." Sam said creepily, lunging at Papyrus with a knife. Sans' eye lit up, and the knife was broken. Sam summoned another knife, this time throwing it at Sans. Sans stepped out of the way of the knife, his eye emitting a blue smoke. "...kid, i didn't want to do this, but..." Sans looked at Sam as he summoned Gaster Blasters. He fired them at her, her SOUL instantly shattering. She respawned, looking more determined than ever. "You think I'd give up like that? Hah. Pathetic." Alex, looking hurt, stabbed Sam's SOUL. "Sorry, Sam... it's for the best. I hope you understand." Sam respawned again, looking a bit beat up. "c'mon, kid. just drop the weapon, and--" But Sam didn't listen. Instead, she swiped her knife at Sans. It was a critical hit. Sans looked at Sam, shocked. "Heheheheh!" Midnight looked at Sam's knife, which was covered in blood.. or ketchup? Nobody knows. "S-SANS..??" Papyrus walked over to his brother. He watched in horror as Sans faded to dust. "SANS!!!" Papyrus cried. Alex looked at Sam. "You...murdered...him..." His TARDIS armor was even shocked. "D i e." The armor coldly said, shooting at Sam. Her eyes instantly returned to their normal color. "..W-wha..?" Her vision still blurred, she cried. She didn't want to stop. Midnight shot fire at her, her SOUL shattering. Midnight Shadow broke the RESET button into two, making it impossible to stop all of this. Sam, continuing, faced Midnight herself. "Listen, Midnight Shadow. You made me murder Sans, and..hehe... that is NOT okay." Sam could feel tears trickling down her cheeks. "But.. I'm going to stop you. No matter what it takes." Midnight Shadow shot balls of red fire at Sam. She dodged them, picking up the real knife. Sam swiped the real knife at Midnight Shadow, full of determination. She, of course, missed. "It won't be easy." Midnight laughed. Sam was unable to dodge Midnight's next attack. 5/20.
*(You are filled with DETERMINATION. HP fully restored.)
Sam, now full HP, rapidly sliced at Midnight Shadow, hoping the demon would burn down below. Sam missed every time, almost being killed twice. "I... won't... give up!" Sam yelled, slicing rapidly again. Alex, Papyrus, and the TARDIS armor helped, launching attacks at the horrid creature that had killed Sans, and corrupted Sam. They had finally lowered Midnight's HP to 1. The final blow. Sam thought. Raising her knife, she was determined to end it now. Here goes nothing. But....
As Sam swiped at Midnight, she disappeared with a cloud of smoke. She had escaped. Everyone was glad Midnight was gone, but they still had one problem..
Sans was dead.
Sam ran over to Sans, followed by the others. It was just dust now. Sam, tears streaming down her face like waterfalls, had to make a difficult decision.
Reset the world and risk the relationships and memories....
Or don't reset, and let a dear friend remain dead.
Sam decided to take the risk.
Everything was going to be reset.
Still trembling, Sam summoned the reset button. "Papyrus... Alex... uh... Alex's armor.." If we forget all of this..... then... I'm sorry."
With that, the world was reset.
A/N: This was kind of a bitter-sweet ending. I mean, sure, Midnight is gone for now, but Sans is dead and the world had to be reset. And, yes, this is the end of the book, I'm sorry. But, I'm making a book two! You'll see what happens in the next timeline! Yaaaaay! OMG I'M SO SORRY FOR CLIFFHANGERS.....
