Chapter 2

Thomas
Andito ako ngayon sa La Torre. Mag che-check in ako kuno, para maexperience naman ang accommodation ng Hotel na imamanage ko soon. Ayoko pa sanang tanggapin yung offer ni Dad para pamalahan itong Hotel, pero may edad nadin kasi siya. He needs to rest and spend more time with Mom and my siblings. When I entered the entrance, I went straight to the reception desk to check in.

"Good Evening Sir, Welcome to La Torre Hotel." Masiglang bati sakin ng receptionist sa desk. I looked for her nametag, Mika. Ok, approachable workers check

"Ms. Mika, I would like to check in. For 2 nights." I told her. She immediately fix the papers to be signed and gave it to me.

"Ah Sir reservations po? If none, fill up this form. Thank you." She told me, I immidiately  get the paper and sign it. Pagkatapos ko, I give it back to her. Kinuha niya yung papel at binigay ang key card ko at tumawag ng porter para sa baggage ko. "Enjoy your stay here at Hotel La Torre." Pahabol niyang saad sakin. I glanced back and just smiled. Pinauna ko na yung porter sa room at naglakad lakad na lang muna sa pool.

Umupo ako sa may bench nag munimuni muna. Relaxing at atmosphere dito, tsaka mag-isa pa ako, kaya mas tahimik ang lugar. Pagkalipas ng ilang minuto, tumayo na ako at nag hahanda ng umalis. Nahulog yung cellphone ko sa ilalaim ng bench kaya kailangan kong mag dive para kunin ito. Nang hindi ko namalayan na may dumaang tao at napatid sa may paanan ko. Agad akong tumayo at tinulungan siya.

"Uhmm, sorry miss. May hinahanap kasi ako sa baba eh. May masakit ba sayo?" Tanong ka sa babae at tinulungan ko siyang pulutin yung mga gamit niya.

"Ah hindi ok lang ako. Sorry din, hindi kita nakita. May hinahanap din kasi ako sa bag ko kanina." Paliwanag niya saakin. Tumingin ako sakanya at nakaramdam ako ng kakaiba. Yung tibok ng puso ko, bumibilis. Pakiramdam ko may butterflies sa stomach ko. Feeling ko kami lang ang tao sa mundo. Ano ba itong nararamdaman ko?

"Hi I'm Thomas. Guest ako rito. Uhmm, ikaw ba?" I said at inabot ang kamay ko. I saw her being hesitant in shaking my hand. "Uhmm, miss can I just get your name?" I asked. I don't know, pero I feel the urge to know her name.

"Uhmm, Ako si-" bago pa niya masabi ang pangalan niya, biglang nag ring ang phone niya. "Sorry, kailangan ko ng umalis. Nice meeting you Thomas." Saad niya at kumaripas ng takbo. I have this feeling, this weird feeling that I badly want to know her name. I want to know her, to be close to her. Ano ba itong nararamdama ko. It seems to be very odd. Haist nevermind, babalik na lang ako sa room ko. Pag labas ko ng pool area, nakakita ako ng coffee shop, bigla akong nagcrave ng espresso at cheese cake. So I decided to order and sit for a while.

I was half way in finishing my coffee and I was browsing my phone when someone called my name. I glanced and I saw Andrei. Oh shoot, oo nga pala he is staying at the pent house.

"Hey kuya Thom is that you?" Saad ni Andrei and he went to my table. I stood and gave him a manly hug like we always do when we see each other. "Hey Drei, yep its me. Kumusta na student-athlete life?" I asked and offer him a seat. He immediately sat down and put his food on the table. "Ok lang naman kuya Thom, not the smartest but I am passing. Sa Bball naman, I am a starter." He casually replied to my question.

"Nga pala, no offense but kumusta na kayo ni Isa? Last time I heard, break na daw kayo. What happened?" I asked him. He seems un easy about what I said. But he managed a smile then spoke, "Well, I dunno. Feeling ko nga may iba na siya eh. Ewan ko din sa babaeng yun, she is so predictable kuya. Kapag may konting problema lang she always say na mag break na lang kami. Like thats the only solution she has for our problem. So in our last fight, napagdesisyonan na lang namin na maghiwalay. So, its true we did broke up." Drei said with a bit sadness in the tone of his voice. Well, Isa and him were really a strong couple. We thought that nothing could separate them, but nothing is permanent. Even realationships. "Well Drei, maybe thats a sign that someone will come to your life better than Isa. There might be someone who can understand all your flaws and fix all your fights." I told Drei. Normally, we don't have this kinds of convos, but this one is different. He just looked at me and nodded.

We continued talking and talking until we got lost of the time. We decided to go back in our room to rest for the day. We got in the elevator and pressed our own floors. He insisted on accompanying me on the way to my room. So I just let him. When we were outside my door, we bid our good byes. "Hey Kuya Thom, daan ka sa may pent house bukas 'kay? He said. I just nodded and said may good bye. We fist bumped, then I want into my room.

I did my rituals before going to bed. I brushed my teeth and all. Before I went to sleep, I check my laptop kung may mails galing sa clients or kay dad. Fortunately, wala kaya free day bukas. Sinara ko ang laptop ko and laid off. Hinihintay kong dalawin ako ng antok pero hindi pa ito dumarating. At biglang pumasok sa isipan ko yung babaeng nakita ko sa pool area kanina. Naalala ko ang kanyang mata na hindi kayang tumingin sakin. Ang kanyang labi na ang sarap sigurong halikan. Hayy.. That girl. Iba talaga ang feeling ko sakanya. She is different, different in a good way.
Before I knew it, I dove of to sleep.
