Chapter 37: The Dream

Before we start I have to let you know that I do NOT own Fairy Tail *sigh* it belongs to Hiro Mashima. The story however is mine. Just make sure you know that m'kay?

Chapter 37: The Dream (Natsu's POV)

I wake up in the infirmary bed. It was just a dream. I stretch and try not to disturb the sleeping Lucy on my lap. My legs are asleep and I need to stretch them so I poke Lucy in the head. "Luce. Wake up." I say repeatedly poking in her head. She sits up and her eyes flash red before turning into a duller brown than their normal chocolaty color. "Hey Luce, is there something wrong with your eyes?" I ask her and she looks at me with curiosity. "No there's nothing wrong. You're probably just seeing things." She giggles and I give a small smile. Lucy drags me out of bed and into the main room. As I meet everyone's eyes, they all flash red before turning to their usual colors. "Huh. Weird." I mumble to myself. Everyone sighs with relief and continues their activities.

Wendy runs up and hugs me. "How are you doing flame brain?" She says in Grey's voice. Startled, I jump back. "Sorry Natsu! I had something caught in my throat." She says, brushing off her weird actions." That doesn't explain why she called me 'flame brain'. I brush it off and start talking to the rest, who either had personality changes or voice changes or both! It is almost as if I am in Edolas again. Lucy is the only one who is the closest to her normal self. I don't know Neb very well, but I know he doesn't have a high voice like the pumpkin from the GMG.

"Hey guys, I am going to tell the dragons I am alright!" I say and Lucy gets wide eyes and runs over. "No! I already told them so there is no need!" I smile and turn to her. "Alright then!" I say and take a sip of booze before leaving the guild hall. When I exit all the people who passed by didn't have faces! It was just skin. I rush nervously through the crowd to Lucy's house. And fall asleep in her bed.

I wake up with my body in motion, mumbling words about Zeref. Just like my dream before...or is this reality? I try to take back control, but fail. I suddenly fall back into darkness.

"Natsu! Wake up!" Lucy says and her eyes flash red before turning to a dull brown once again. "I had a weird dream again!" I say and Lucy scoots closer. "Tell me! I wanna know!" Her dull eyes gleam with excitement. "Well it was super weird! I was in my body going through the woods mumbling about Zeref, only I wasn't in control! It was super weird!" Lucy's eyes widen and her smile turns fake. "Wow! That sounds totally unreal!" Her eye twitches and the corners of her mouth rise up as it she is trying to keep the smile from falling by raising it higher.

"Well you should get back to sleep! You looked distressed so I woke you up. It is nighttime now so you can go back to sleep. She blinks and her eyes flash red then turn brown before she turns over and crawls under the covers. I nestle my head in the pillow and close my eyes again.

I wake up again as my body reaches a mountain. I feel the heat of my skin from the sun. This is reality, no this is fake. Then why is everyone acting weird in the fake, no real world. I am getting a headache just thinking about this. I have to choose one. This world: Real or fake? I think really hard and suddenly I fall into darkness.

"Nattttssssuuu." I bunch of demonic voices say my name and drag it out (AN: Like the phantoms in Noragami that say 'smells nice') I open my eyes to see Lucy above my with half of her face with purple blotches on her skin. Her eyes are red and she has a creepy smile on her face. I push her off and jump out the window. This is fake! This is fake! The faceless people groan as I bump into them. I keep running until I reach an area I have never been to. There is no landscape, it just fades to white. I keep running. "Fire Dragon Iron Fist!" I yell and slam my fist into the ground shattering the white like glass.

I wake up in the real world where my body has been stopped at the foot of the mountain. "I see you broke out." My demonic voice says "No matter. Your precious guild will never be able to stop me." The demonic voice of mine laughs and I mentally shudder. This is so confusing.

(Lucy's POV)

"...so that's what's going on." I explain and everyone looks horrified, more than they were before. "Well we don't know where Natsu is!" Someone shouts. "Levy and I will work on it." I reply. "Once we do find E.N.D, we can destroy him!" Another shouts and a series of cheers. I stand, shocked that our guild would do something like that." "Ok then 'Operation Destroy E.N.D is put into action." Master Mavis says and the world around me turns black.
