Chapter 8: Two Years Later...

Before we start I have to let you know that I do NOT own Fairy Tail *sigh* it belongs to Hiro Mashima. The story, however, is mine. Just make sure you know that m'kay?

Chapter 8: Two Years Later...(Lucy's POV)

It's been two years of training and we all have finally mastered dragon slaying. It took Natsu a little longer than the rest only because he was procrastinating. Typical. I took a while only because I didn't know that I was a dragonslayer until that day. The dragons weren't lying when they said we wouldn't age.

They were right and now I look super strong too, but not too much that people will mistake me for someone dangerous. That is awesome because I want people to think I am super cute...and then find out that I am deadly. The dragons decided to send us back with some very rare materials, so our guild mates will think that we were actually out getting materials.

"Bye! See you later!" I say and wave to the dragons. Natsu puts his hand on my shoulder and guides me through the portal. Over the time here in the dragon realm, Natsu has drawn super close to me and he always commented and congratulated me on my work.

Now every time he is around, my heart races faster. I know this feeling since I have had crushes before, but I can't have a crush on my best friend. And even if I were to admit my feelings, Natsu would be too dense to even notice.

"Luce were back," Natsu says and shakes me out of my thoughts. I grab the handle of the giant wagon and pull it toward Magnolia. "Hey Luce, let me get that for you," Natsu says and takes the wagon from me. I thank him and we walk into Magnolia. I guess Natsu didn't want people to see that I had two years worth of training.

We pull up to the half finished guild hall with Gajeel and Wendy and the giant wagon full of rare materials. "We're back!" I yell and the guild rushes toward us.

"Whoa look at all the rare stuff!" Levy says "Yeah. It took awhile, but we wanted to get the best stuff." Wendy says. I smile and start unloading the materials. Everyone looks the same, but I expected that. I mean I was in a non-aging, different realm for two years.

As soon as it was unloaded, I couldn't find Natsu anywher- I mean... not that I was looking for him or anything. "Hey, Mira! I am going to go home and rest up a bit 'kay?" I say and she nods. I walk out on the construction zone and down the street. The men in the boat warn me, as usual, to watch where I step.

When I reach my apartment at Fairy Hills, I unlock the door and step in. My sense of smell and hearing has increased dramatically since I became a dragonslayer, so as soon as the smell of a fire and chocolate (Let's just say that's Natsu's scent.) hit my nose. I open the door to find the dragon slayer on my couch.

"Hey, Lu-" "Get Out!" I shout and kick him. My kick was too fast for him to catch and it hits him right out the window.

Natsu hangs off the ledge the roof. "Wait Luce! I want to ask you something!" he says and pulls himself back into my room. My face heats up. Has he figured out my feelings? "Luce..." he begins and steps closer "Do ya want to go on a mission? I heard the board is open for requests again." Natsu says and smiles.

I sigh in relief. Obviously, he wouldn't ask that he is too dense. I snap back into reality and nod. "Sure I'd love to!" I say smiling. He turns to leave before turning back around. "Oh and Luce," he says. Natsu looks down in embarrassment "I left my house keys in the dragon realm... can I stay with you?"

"That never stopped you from breaking into my house," I mumble so softly so he wouldn't hear it. "Fine." I groan. His face lightens up "Thanks, Luce." he says and hugs me really tightly. My face heats up again. Natsu suddenly dashes off leaving me red faced and stunned.
