Chapter ✌....
Darrick walked in with Yelena by his side. She held him on the waist possessively, but no one questioned that, everyone knew they were best friends, infact, most people called them siblings. Even the media talked about them.
"Good day sir, good day ma'am ", the receptionist greeted with humility.
" You mean you're gonna say hi to her alone?", Darrick asked pretending not to have heard her greet him.
"But sir, I did greet you", the receptionist said sincerely.
He frowned for a couple of seconds, then all of a sudden he burst into an erratic laughter.
" Gotcha! ", he chuckled, seeing the fear that had registered in her eyes.
She heaved a sigh and smile to herself.
The customers present at the supermarket turned to stare admirably at him. No one would have thought he was the owner of such a magnificent supermarket. Not with his humility and the way he treated his employees with obvious kindness and love.
" You wanna give the girl a heart attack? ", Yelena giggled, smacking him on the head.
He didn't reply, all he did was laugh some more as he walked into the manager's office.

Kelly stopped as the door man opened the door to let her in. She smiled at him and even greeted him before he could bid her good day.
" Sorry ma'am", he apologized, releasing she had greeted him first, and knowing fully well that some customers didn't take such act fairly."Oh but you need not be dear", she laughed, then walked in. She was glad she wasn't being followed by paparazzi today... She just couldn't stand them!
She had dressed casually in a sky blue top and a navy blue trouser with a black slipper. Her hair packed up in a pony tail. She caught the glance of passersby as they stopped to spare her glances, some even pointed fingers at her. She quickly tucked her hands into her purse and drew out a pair of glasses which she hurriedly put on. She vacated that section of the market and moved over to where she could get the right ingredients for her baking. Attracting viewers was one thing she hadn't bargained for. The glasses was helping, only that she couldn't see properly with it. She purchased some eggs alongside milk and margarine.
Perhaps she could also get some sugar. She turned to her left and immediately bumped into someone. A hard frame. Her glasses fell and the eggs crashed. She quickly bent to pick up the ones that had survived.
" Sorry ", she apologized sincerely, her attention still on the eggs.
Darrick knew his eyes weren't playing tricks on him. He couldn't be imagining her there. Just to be certain, he squatted down beside her and picked up her glasses. She gaze met his and he smiled.
" A certainly bad choice of shades for the particular purpose ", he whispered, not making any attempt to hide the grin on his lips.
She couldn't help but smile.
" Thanks ", she wiped her hands clean with her handkerchief while taking her glasses from him.
Her legs were beginning to ache from the stretched moment of squatting, so she knelt to properly clean up the mess the eggs made on the floor.
" No wait, you don't have to do that. You can always get another one", he said, picking up the shells into a nylon bag close by before dumping into the trash can.
"No you don't need to, I'm already okay with these", she gestured to the unbroken eggs in the bag she held.
" Okay then ", he stood and she did the same. Then she felt the start of another smile at the corner of her mouth.
