Darkest Dawn [Harry Potter]

"It's dead,"

"It's not dead, Leah, it just needs....."

"I was right, wasn't I? It's dead!"

Neville sighed, "Yes. It's not you, it's just that som-"

"Some people kill their Herbology homework... Every. Bloody. Time."

Leah Dawn sighed and sunk into her chair, "At least it didn't spit out goo" she sighed. Neville offered a small smile. "At least" he agreed.

Leah frowned and poked the dead plant, "I think I'll decorate it. With glitter and give it to Pan face....red and gold glitter" she said. Neville chuckled, "Payback?" he asked, remembering the mornings events.

"Payback," Leah confirmed

Absent mindedly playing with her green and black tie, Leah straightened up, "I should go. It getting late, and me and Luna have to do our Astronomy homework"

Neville nodded. "Have fun" he replied. Leah grinned, "Will do."

After she gave Neville a quick hug, Leah walked out of the Gryffindor common room and made her way to the Slytherin one.

Seeing that Luna wasn't waiting there for her when he arrived. Leah stepped inside. Blaise raised an eyebrow and set his book down, "We thought they'd kidnapped you for sure" he stated. Leah stuck her tounge out, "Childish," she heard a voice remark.

Leah huffed and ignored Pansy, "Has Luna been by?" she questioned.

"Loony?" Pansy laughed, from her seat on the sofa. Leah glared at Pansy, who simply smirked in return.

"No." Blaise said before the two girls murdered each other. Leah turned her gaze back to him, "Thanks," she replied. Blaise may be a git at times, but he wouldn't lie.

Leah frowned and sat next to Blaise, "I'm hungry," she announced. Blaise frowned, "And you're telling me, why?" he asked. Leah shrugged, "Boredom" she answered.

The door to the common room swung open, and Draco Malfoy stepped in, "Blaise, Pansy, Leah" he greeted. Leah smiled, "Hi" she said. Pansy practically started drooling over Draco, who glanced at her, and moved away.

Raising an eyebrow, Draco walked over to Leah and Blaise and looked at Leah, "How long?" he asked. Leah grimaced and picked a piece of her hair up, "Two days" she stated proudly. Blaise snorted, "Longer than last time then?"

Leah rolled her eyes. "I'm going to find Luna." she said as she stood and left.

"I want it pink, next time"

"Really? What kind of pink?" Luna asked.

Leah examined a lock of her hair, "Bright," she grinned. Luna sighed, "I do hope thus is the last time you change your hair"

Leah shrugged, "Nothing fits," she pouted. Luna nodded, "I agree. Maybe green?" she offered. Leah shook her head, "Nah" Leah replied, before yawning

"Mum and dad would kill me," she replied, "Are we finished?"

Luna nodded. "Great" Leah grinned, "I can go to bed"

Luna and Leah said their goodbyes before going their separate ways.

The Slytherin common room was dark, when Leah got back. There were a few candles flickering, creating a eerie glow on the walls. The room was empty, apart from Leah, who promptly tripped over when she entered the room.

As she landed on her bag, she heard a crunch, "Fuck." she swore. With only a bit of light, Leah poked her leg, "Ow" Leah huffed and threw her arms up, then let them down, "Why are there never any warnings?" she muttered to herself.

"Do you always talk to yourself?" A voice said from behind her. Leah turned her head, abd quickly stood up, wincing as she did, "I don't know" she replied, "do you always sit in the dark?" she asked.

Draco shook his head, "Maybe," he replied. Leah nodded and sat opposite Draco. She frowned when she noticed he looked almost.. ill. "Are you OK?" she asked.

Draco frowned, "You shouldn't ask questions like that." he said.

Leah glanced down at her hands, there was silence.

"Sorry," she mumbled a while later, "My leg hurts and I lost my pills" there was a snort. "You mean these?" Draco lifted a bottle Leah recognized as her medicine. "Yes," she replied, and reached out for it. Grabbing a bottle of water Leah swallowed two pills then sat back in her seat.

"I can't decide if you're in a really good mood or if someone took over your body." she announced.

"Im just... sorting things out." Draco replied quickly.

Leah sighed, "Well, my fellow Slytherin, I must go to bed, you don't want me to freak out... again" she grinned as she stood slowly.

"Night" she said as she made her way towards the girls dorm, "Night" she heard Draco reply, "And yes" she heard him add. Even though she knew he was lying, she smiled, "Good"
