"Hey Jessie!" My best friend Olivia said while walking into the record shop we both worked at.

"Hey." I reply giving her a smile

"It's so much cooler in here, it's like a hundred and one degrees out there!"

During the summer it gets really hot here in Los Angeles, so we're pretty much used to it.

"Any customers come in yet today?"

"Nope, not yet." I tell her. The record shop is usually slow, and we don't get a lot of customers in.

After talking for a while the bell rang and someone walked in the door. "Finally a customer." I say standing up from my chair behind the counter. And Olivia does the same.

The boy that walked in was wearing black jeans, a t-shirt and a snapback.

"Can we help you with anything?" Liv asked in a polite voice.

"Um no I'm just looking." The boy said with his back turned to us.

After he looked around the store he walked up to the counter with a cd in his hand. Olivia rang him up while a put the cd into a bag.

He was pretty cute, I couldn't see his eyes though because they were hidden behind a pair if sunglasses.

After Olivia put the money in the cash register she told me she would be right back.

I was still standing at the counter waiting for the guy to leave when he started to talk to me.

"Hi I'm Niall." He stated, waiting for my answer.

"I'm Jessie." I told him

"Well um.." He seemed a bit nervous then continued, "I guess I'll see you around"

"Yeah" I smiled waving to him as he walked out the door.

After a few minutes Olivia finally came back. "Where'd you go?" I asked her.

"Just in the back room." She said giving me a smirk.

"Why." I questioned almost afraid of her answer.

"Because you two needed some alone time." I assumed she was referring to Niall and I.

"What, why would we need some alone time"

"Because he likes you and you like him."

"There is no way he likes me. How could you possibly tell." There was no way he liked me, but I'll admit I did like him a little.

"The way he looked at you while he was paying was enough to give it away. He was looking at you the whole time trying to hold back a smile." When she said this I got little butterflies in my stomach. Could he really like me?

"Well chances are I'll never talk to him again." I said pushing the thought of him liking me to the back of my mind.

"Sure." Was all she said while sitting back down into her chair.
