For days I’ve been in my own little world. When people have tried to talk to me I didn’t answer I just stared into space ignoring the person. My mother claimed I was taking this whole Severus thing too far and that I needed to eat.  Everyone tried talking to me except for Severus, even Celine was becoming worried with me.

“Charline, you need to eat something!” yelled Celine.

I didn’t show any acknowledgment I kept a blank face.

“Is she eating, Celine? asked my mother leaning over my shoulder.

“Does it look like it?” said Celine sarcastically.

My mother rolled her eyes annoyed. “Charline, you don’t have to talk, just eat please,” begged my mother.

I said nothing I got up and left the great hall walking like a ghost with no expression or feeling. I pushed open the door to the cool winter air that tickled my nose with every sniffle. The snow crunched under my feet as I walked to the water. I sat on the the rock and stared out into the watery ice. There was a crunching behind me after a second it stopped.

“Hello there,” said a mans voice from behind.

“Hello,” I whispered quietly not turning.

The man walked over to the front of me. He had brown hair and a small mustache.

“Hey aren’t you that girl that smacked Severus across the face?” asked the man.

“Yeah,” I sighed.

“Oh, my name is Remus Lupin,” he smiled.

“Charline Laroche,” I bowed my head a bit.

“Laroche?” asked Mr.Lupin cocking his head.

I shook my head.

“Are you related to someone named Solange?” he asked scratching his head.

I shook my head. “Do you know her?” I asked rubbing my arms for warmth.

“Yes, I do,” he said staring at the ground hands in his pockets.

“Oh,” I said looking at the water.

“Is there a way I can get a hold of her?”

"She is here right now," I said simply

“Is she?” he said awkwardly.

“Would you like me to get her?”

“No, no it’s fine,” he shook his head.

“Alright,” he smiled.

A few awkward minutes passed with us just looking around. There was something about him that made me want to keep looking back.

“What are you looking at?” he laughed.

“Nothing,” I blushed.

“You’re awfully pretty for a young girl,” he murmured.

I smirked largely at this complement. “I’m seventeen.”

“I can tell don’t worry.”

“Are you trying to flirt with me Mr.Lupin?” I gasped.

“Maybe,” he leaned into me and kissed me.

I heard fast crunching down the hill.

“Charline!” screamed Severus horrified. “What in the name of Merlin are you doing?” his eyes were bulging.

“I’m forgetting about you!” I screamed.

“Charline, you do not know what you are doing!” Severus yelled.

“Of course she does Severus!” Mr.Lupin said annoyed.

“No, because you’re her father!” bellowed Severus.

“My father is dead!” I spat.

“Have you ever seen a picture of him, Charline, what about his grave?” He growled back.

“No,” she said nervously.

“Don’t you even look like him a bit?” Severus raised his eyebrow.

“Uhhhh,” I looked at Lupin’s face. I had his eyes and nose! How could I not notice this!

My father looked like he was about to pass out. If only what I know now I did then.
