"Thomas, this is Maddi, your new partner. Maddi this is Thomas" she said to both of them as they awkwardly shook each other's hands. "Good, now I expect from you that you get along well and work as a team. England Police Station's priority is team work and protecting the environment!" She stated as Thomas and Maddi exchanged confused looks. "Will do" they both said. "Alright. Go on with your work, you two have been dismissed" she said and directing them out of her office.

"You don't seem to like your boss" Maddi said to Thomas as they walked back to their desks. "She is not my favorite" he claims. "Then who is?" She asked as she widely smiled at him. "Umm, no one really" he said nervously. "Alright, no pressure" she said.

He looked down at her brown, sparkily eyes staring at his. Her brown hair was tucked in a bun as her hair was flashed brightly from the sun.

"Let's get takeaway" Thomas offered. "Yes! I would love to, I am quite starving" she said excitedly. "Well, let's go then" he said as he led her out of the station. They went to the Chinese restaurant right outside of the station. They decided to sit down at a small table outside. They ordered, lemon chicken and some vegetables. "Wow, I'm full" she said. She held her stomach as she leaned back to her chair. "Thanks for the meal" Maddi said. "No worries, it's all on me" he smiled. "Thank you, next time it's on me" she smiled back at his dark brown eyes as his dark hair blew from the cold wind. "Tell me about yourself" Thomas said to her as he leaned towards. "Well, I am from London. I studied here in the university and then decided to be a police officer" she said. "What made you become an officer?" He asked her. Maddi's smile wipped of her face as she had to speak. "Umm... I... I was kidnapped" tears began to fall as she spoke. "The police never came for me, I escaped myself" her voice was not understandable as she started crying. "Oh my gosh, I am so sorry, Maddi I didn't know"

As Maddi started to cry, Thomas stood up and hugged her tightly. "It's fine. I'm fine. I'm sorry, I got to go" she quickly wipped off her tears as she stood up. "Want me to get you a lift home?" He asks. "No, my boyfriend said he'd wait for me". Maddi didn't wait for his respond. She took her bag and rushed out the restaurant door.

Thomas looked at her leave. He felt like he should do something but didn't know what. As he walked back home, he thought about Maddi. He felt guilty, but also stupid for asking her about herself. He saw a bin next to his letter box, He kicked the bin with all his might making the trash fly into the wind scattering all over his garden. He rushed to his house and locked his door behind him. He leaned his head to the front door as tears started sliding down his cheeks. He tried to catch his breath as he closed his eyes tightly to release all his tears out.

Meanwhile, Maddi got to her boyfriend's car. She looked at her feet as she wipped off her tears. "Hey babe" a dark black hair, tall with blue eyes guy said to her. He leaned towards to kiss her but she pushed him away. He only realized that she was crying. "Bad day?" He asked. "No, it's not that" she answered. "Hey, it's not about what happened months ago, right?". She looked at him for the first time as he spotted her beautiful eyes filled with warm tears. "Oh babe... It will be alright" he said to her as he drove off.

"Forest, thanks for driving me back home" Maddi said as Forest opened her the front door. "Don't mention it" he said back smiling. She stepped in and turned around to face Forest. "I'm sorry I got on the car like that". "Stop apologizing, you don't have any reason to apologize" he said as he walked towards her and kissed her. "I think I can use just you and me right now" she said to him as she kissed him back.
