Start Again

chapter 4

She took her phone out of her jeans as she slide down from the kitchen counter to the ground.

"Thomas? Hey, it's me" she said as soon as Thomas answered. "I need to tell you something" she spoke up as she turned to face Forest. "What is it?" Thomas asked curiously from the other end of the line. "My boyfriend got a promotion which will have to get him move to New York" she began. "Alright so?" He asked. "I am moving with him...." She said as the call finished. "He... He hanged up on me" she said. "Really? What is that about?" Forest asked. "I don't know, I'll go to his house, I'll talk to you later" she said as she kissed him on the cheek and headed to Thomas's house.

Meanwhile, Thomas set down on his couch and began to cry. Suddenly, he heard the door bell ring. He walked up to open the door to find Maddi standing in front of him. "Maddi" he claims as he invites her in. "Are you okay? You hanged up on me in the phone" she began. "Yes I did. Why are you leaving England after you only started working here?" He spoke up. "I am moving to start a new beginning and for my boyfriend's promotion" she answered. "Tell me you are not happy with moving". "Well, it's tough leaving you and everything behind" she claims. "It won't be tough leaving me" he shakes his head with disagreement. "Why are you saying that?" She asks. "Because since I met you, I knew we had a spark.. I have feelings for you and I can't hide it anymore" he says as he runs quickly over her, grabs her by her hand and kisses her passionately on her lips. She pushes him away as she stares at him deeply with disbelief. "I can't do this" she says as she grabs her bag and walks out the door, back to her house.

When she gets there, she sees that Forest already packed everything and ready to fly to New York. "Are you ready?" He said to her as she walks in. "You packed everything?" She asks with disbelief. "Yes and I booked us a flight which is in two hours so we have to leave now" he said as he took his bags and Maddi grabs hers and head out to their car. "You're ready for a new journey?" Forest asks Maddi as he pulls out from the drive away. "I guess" she answered as she looked at him of what she must be thinking of not telling him what happened when she visited Thomas.

As they got to the airport, Maddi felt nausia in her stomach. She realized that it's too late and she won't see Thomas ever again.

Forest took Maddi's hand and walked together to the plane. Forest sat on A26 and Maddi sat on B26. Together, they fell asleep during the flight.

Meanwhile, Thomas went to drink at a bar every single evening after work. All he could think of was Maddi while Maddi and Forest are starting a new adventure together. Suddenly, he got a phone call from his boss.

"Malia?" He said as soon as he answered the phone. "I need you to see something, come quick" she instructed. "Is everything okay?" He asked curiously. "You will decide when you get here" she said and she hanged up the phone.

Thomas drove to the police station where Malia was waiting for him. "I need you to look at this" she said as she looked at her computer screen. "A middle age, male killed 19 girls across 19 countries, his next target must be in London" she read out to him. "Okay, what else?" He asks. "He took 19 girls across the world to New York where he would rape and kill them. He would hide the bodies that evidence won't be identified" she continues. "Oh god" he mumbles. "Oh god what? Go and investigate" Malia shouted at him. "No, no, no you don't understand, I might know who the killer is" he said as he ran off.

Meanwhile, Forest and Maddi landed in New York. They took a cab and headed to a small hotel. "Hey, babe want some coffee?" He asks her as she looks around the room. "Yes, thanks" she says. "Thank you for coming with me to New York, I wouldn't have done it without you" he said to her. "Aww, Forest, that's actually so sweet" she says as she gets up to kiss him.

Meanwhile, Thomas headed to the airport and caught a plane over to New York. His plane is late and he is afraid he might be late to save her.

"We have to go to sleep now" she says to Forest while putting the coffee jug on the table. "Yes, we do, tomorrow we have lots of things to do" he tells her. They both stand up and head to the bedroom where they both fall asleep.

Just before morning, Maddi hears a ring on the door. She opens her eyes realising that Forest is not in his bed side. Thoughts had ran around her head as she gets out of bed. She opens the door to see Thomas standing in front of her. "Thomas? What are you doing here?"
