Chapter Fifty Four:Recovery

  "Everything looks good. You are cleared to go home. Take it easy but you can go back to normal routine as soon as tomorrow. " Dr. Stewart tells me before sending a nurse in to release me.
   "Take it easy , love." He says rushing to get his car door.
   "Finn, I can open the door."
"So can I." He smiles opening the door for me.
"I'm taking you to the house and I will drop your prescriptions off." He tells me as he pulls out of the parking lot.
   "Thank you."
"Don't thank me, love. I love you."

   I know he didn't sleep much last night. I had to force him to leave so he could sleep. He was still back at the hospital before nine this morning. I feel so guilty that he has to be doing this right now.

  "Can you please stop scaring me?"Ashley pulls me into a hug as soon as I walk in the door.
"Sorry. You know me I am an attention whore." I smile at her while she shakes her head.

  "So how bad was it? Are you in pain? Let me see your incision." She asks lifting my shirt up.
  "Let her walk in at least before you start taking her clothes off." Logan laughs.

  "Not bad, Dr. Jennings did the surgery. Pain is eh I have had worse. Incisions are actually not too bad. I can show you later." I smile staring at my best friend.

  "I'm going to get her prescriptions filled. Can you watch her?" Finn says too serious.
  "Really? I'm okay. Didn't you hear the doctor I can start to go back to normal activity?"
"We can handle her."Ashley nods as Finn walks out the door.

"Okay now tell me the truth. How was it really?" She says as we sit down.

"Well the pain was awful, but I was well taken care of. Oh and the fucking best part. Jason that little asshole was on last night. Here we are waiting for me to go upstairs and he comes strolling in." I shake my head thinking about it.

"No way! What did Finn do? What did you do?"
  "So I tell Finn that's who just walked in the room and of course he gets all defensive and territorial. Then jackass says he miss read the situation and that's why he kissed me. Can you believe it?! It was eventful."

  "Should you be out of bed?" Sebastian asks as he walks into the kitchen.
  "Yes I am allowed to go back to normal activity just a bland diet and no heavy lifting. So the weight lifting will have to wait another day." I shrug.

  "How was dinner?" I ask changing the subject.

  "It was great until you passed out and scared the shit out of us."Ashley stares at me.
"I'm sorry. Do you know how embarrassing that was for me? It's not like I said hey you know what appendicitis sounds kind of awesome."She hit a nerve and she knows it.
"I know I'm sorry but seriously no more emergency visits. You have hit your quota for the year."

" Are you hungry? Can you eat?" Logan asks joining us.

" I had broth and what I think was jello. I am good for a while."
  I feel awkward everyone is staring at me.

  "You guys please I promise I feel fine.
In fact better then fine. I'm not throwing up anymore or running a temp. No pain either. "I plead.

    "Hey ma." I say answering my phone and walking up to Finn's room.
  "I'm being well taken care of I promise. Maybe a little too watched in fact." I say laying down on Finn's bed.
  "Love you guys too." I say as Finn walks in the room.

  "I'm going to go back to my dorm. If I stay here I am going to cry." I watch as he walks over to me.

  "A little intense?"
"A lot. I love you guys but staring at me and second guessing me is really making me miss the hospital."
 
  "Tell me how I can make this better so you stay?"

"Movie night, chicken soup and cuddling with you would do it." He starts to smile.
  "Done, love."
"I need clothes and my books for tomorrow."
"Ashley already took care of that. Clothes are in the closet and book bag is on my desk." He shows me.

  "Thank you for everything. I honestly do appreciate it even if I seem like an ungrateful brat."

  " You aren't being a brat." He pulls me into his lap. "Let me know when you start to feel pain. That shot they gave you before we left will be wearing off soon."
 
   "I will let you know. I promise. Do you want to lay down ? I know you are tired."

   "I am fine you are the one that had surgery, love."

  "I still can't believe that happened." I lift up my shirt.
  "Pretty soon it will be like connect the dots from these tiny incision scars."

  "He said you need to keep them clean."
  I have to laugh. "Finn, sweet heart." I giggle.

  "I just told a nurse how to do something she is trained to do." He nods realizing the irony.
     " I promise I will keep them clean and dry. I won't over do it." I lean up to kiss him.
  "Should you be." I stop him and continue to kiss him.
  "I love you." I say against his lips.
"I love you." He lets out a sigh. "You scared me last night." He admits.

  " I scared myself. I seriously thought it was just bad food. Some nurse." I shrug.

  "That doctor seems to like you. He told me what a great job you do. You've definitely impressed him."

  "He likes everyone."
  "You are too hard on yourself."
  "Comes on lets go downstairs.We can see what movie we want to watch." I say slipping off of his lap.

   "If that's what you want."  He says following behind me.

" We are going to do chicken noodle soup and movies. Who's in?" I ask the as I enter the living room.

  "We are going out wit Tyler and Tiffany." Logan says looking at Ashley.

"I could use a movie night." Sebastian shrugs sitting back on the couch.

  "What's Keith up to?"
"He's out with a girl." Ashley smiles.

  "Ooh yeah?" I smile sitting down.
"We just hear about her last night. He is being very tight lipped." She nods.

"Very cool for him."

"I will see you tomorrow." Ashley smiles hugging me.

  "I'm going to call in our order."Finn adds as he walks into the kitchen .

  "What movie sounds good?" I ask flipping through the movies.

  "I'm going to pick up the food are you good?"
"I think Sebastian can baby sit me while you are gone."

  "I know , love."

  "Now that he is gone." I smile.
"How are you feeling?"

  "They gave me a pain shot before I left so I am more than good."

"Is it a big incision?"

  "No it's two small incisions. I can show you one the other is a little too low." I laugh lifting my shirt up a bit.

  "That's not too bad at all."

  "See I told you guys I'm okay. Last night not so much today much better. So comedy? Or epic flash back movie?"

  " Flash back." He smiles. "I have never watched any of these movies to be honest."

"Seriously? How is that possible?"

  Finn brings back the soup and the three of of us watch 1980's movies for the rest of the night.
   "I think I might need a pain pill." I cringe when the burning starts to turn into a severe ache.
   It's not long after that I fall asleep and wake up to Finn carrying me to bed. He helps me change into my unicorn night shirt.
   "Good night, love." He whispers as I close my eyes.
