This Will Get Hate: Rants and Opinions

Feminism

Hm. Feminism. Mixed feelings. My opinion changes a lot on this one. I've had good experiences with feminists and bad ones. There are those feminists who are educated in certain things and will explain them to you, and they fully know about ableism and abortion and they don't only talk about "first world problems".

But then you have those who don't know what they're talking about. Or maybe they just refuse to tell you anything. You ask them, for example, "What is ableism?" And they say something along the lines of, "Go look it up. It's not my job to educate you. You're what's making this planet even scummier." I mean... I have a few problems with that. One of them is a personal problem with that.

1) I don't like looking things up very often. Don't know why. It just bothers me and sometimes gives me anxiety. It's just that there's so many sources and so many opinions and you don't know what's right or wrong or if you click on it; it might be a virus or something... So... Me asking somebody and getting an answer is a lot easier. I don't want them screaming at me.

2) Not everybody has access to Google or Bing or Yahoo or whatever. Just depends.

3) As a feminist, you want to make the world better.. Correct? You're fighting for women's rights. You want women to be equal to men. Therefore, that would "make the world better". Now, wouldn't it help by, you know, educating some people and helping them? You're not helping anything by educating already educated people. Okay, great, they have a strong, female figure to look up to. But.. What about those people who want to know what something means? Can't you just tell them? It won't kill you. At least (if you're on social media) make posts dedicated to the definitions, and tag them to those posts. Or give a small explanation.. I hope that made sense.

So, we've knocked out those two problems. Now, feminists who only talk about "first world problems". I believe those are called "white feminists?" Therefore implying that they are white women in a first world country, not supporting POC, or women in countries worse off then theirs. I mean, it bothers me. But I don't know have enough experience with them to go on a full out rant. But I believe they should become more educated and less closed minded.

Now, the next thing is something that bothers me with all feminists. And even some people who aren't feminists. Kind of just people in general. Now, I'm going to be hypocritical here, because I've been known to get somewhat like this when I'm very very very angry and having an episode. I hate, hate, hate it when they get angry or somebody disagrees, and they go: "YOU SCUM OF THE EARTH, YOU HORRIBLE PIG, YOU REPULSE ME!! YOU ARE JUST SOME WHITE CIS HETEROSEXUAL MALE SCUM WITH NO EDUCATION YOU ARE JUST HORRIBLE!!! I WILL CHOP OFF YOUR BALLS AND SHOVE THEM DOWN YOUR THROAT I HOPE YOU DIE."

Ok. Maybe not always that extreme. And yes, yes, I know: "Not all feminists do that." But, I'm sure that many of them have done the old "assuming you're a white, cis, hetero male" thing before. I have several problems with that.

1) Okay, you didn't mention disorders. Do physical or mental disorders not make you oppressed in any way? Do you not face challenges? Is it not worthy of being said? That's the part that pisses me off the most, honestly.

2) Okay, you should never assume. First off, that's just rude. Secondly, it's just wrong. You could be greatly offending or hurting somebody. Don't do that.

Now, the second part bothers me the most. If you tell people to die, or threaten to harm or kill them. Nope, nope nope. Can we not do that? Ok, going to be honest. I'm pretty sure I've threatened murder before while having an episode. So here goes Hypocrite Central again.

1) Threatening to harm or kill. Don't do that. Please. Speaking from personal experience, it gives me panic attacks and can sometimes cause me to have an episode. And that's not fun at all. Never fun, actually.

2) Is it illegal? Might be illegal.

3) Telling somebody to die. Hm. Hmm. Yeah. Don't do that. Let's say that person is suicidal. Let's say they already had a shitty day. Let's say you tell them to die. What could they possibly do? Yeah, pretty simple answer.

So, basically, just.. Be educated and watch what you say? I didn't go too much in detail (surprising, right?) but I'll do certain things (abortion, ableism, free bleeding) later.

And hey, opinion on picture? It's my fireplace. I love to take pictures and edit them. Hobby of mine.
