Chapter 1: The Beginning

Autumn's POV

Until the beginning of my fourth year of high school my life was pretty normal. Nothing too exciting ever happened. Well that was until the thing started watching me.

It started not long after I started my fourth year of high school. I hardly noticed it at first but it kept showing up more and more. The first time I saw it was when I was alone at home. My parents had gone out for the day. It was a cold and misty day so I put on a random movie, made some hot chocolate and lay down on the couch.

I was half way through the movie when something out of the corner of my eye caught my attention. I looked out the large window next to the door and there was a strange figure. I couldn't see it clearly because of the mist so I looked a little closer and there was nothing there. I thought nothing of it.

This happened over and over again. At first it only showed up when it was misty but after a while it came out more frequently and out in the open. It would always be on the other side of the road of my house or in the school yard but when I asked my friends if they could see it. They never did.

The last time I saw it was definitely the worst. I was going over to my boyfriends house but when I got there I found him in bed with another girl. I stormed out of the room, slammed the door and ran into the forest that surrounded our small town. I kept running until I couldn't anymore. I stopped and sat down, leaning on a tree. The tears were still streaming down my cheeks and I could feel my makeup running. I probably looked like a mess but I didn't care. I just sat there, wanting to be alone.

After a while I looked up. I was too shocked to speak when I saw the thing standing only a few feet away from me. It was the first time I had seem it this close and it frightened me. It's face was completely white with no facial featured whatsoever. It was tall, much taller than any person I had ever seen and just as skinny, and for some or other reason it was wearing a suit.

I sat there dumbstruck. I wanted to scream but I couldn't form any words. It just stood there staring at me and finally I got the courage to move. I got up as quickly as I could and ran. I ran till I got to my house.

It's been a week and nothings gotten better for me. I haven't seen that thing again but I can feel it watching me. I have this constant feeling that somethings following me. I might just be paranoid but I don't care anymore, there is no way I'm letting my guard down. My boyfriend also came over one day to apologise... and break up with me. "August I'm so sorry that you had to see that, but the truth is I don't love you anymore."
He was just so insincere that I couldn't help but slap him as hard as I could.
"Get out Ugo!" I screamed and slammed the door in his face. I couldn't take his presence a second longer. Hopefully things will start getting better.

I have been watching her for months now. She is the perfect candidate for the little game I have set. She hasn't seen me for a while so her guard is down. She has also had a heart break recently which will come to my advantage. I will have to do it tonight before it is too late. So... let it begin!
