Chapter 3

Edward stood looking himself in the bathroom mirror of his townhouse. He was wearing only a white tee and a pair of blue striped boxers. He was brushing feverishly at his upper molars, trying to get done before his professor's's nomination started.

It had been hell getting home. After getting drinks with the guys Eddy had been lucky to catch a cab at all in the failing daylight. Not to mention the down town traffic once he was underway. It was horrible!

A soft voice interrupted him, "Honey, have you seen my pajamas?" Eddy could hear her outside the bathroom, shuffling about. No doubt rummaging through various bags and drawers trying to find them herself.

Eddy took a moment to spit and wiped his mouth, "there on top of the dryer." Barely a second passed before Eddy was back at it brushing away like there was no tomorrow. It was a real big deal to Edward. Brushing, flossing, and gargling were mandatory after each meal. The gummy feeling of food stuck between his teeth was maddening and could not be tolerated. To put it simply Eddy was a clean freak, and the ritualized cleaning and hygienic activities were just a part of ordinary life to him.

"Oh, thanks Babe. I found them." Sara walked in the bathroom, holding the pajamas in front of her. "Don't you think these look cute on me?" Her smile was hopeful, almost teasing.

Edward was done rinsing. He turned around to face her, using a towel to dry off his wet mouth. "Those are the one's I got you last Christmas aren't they?" The truth was he never thought about it. Sara was a hottie twenty-four seven, it didn't matter what she was wearing. He smiled.

"Yes I know, I can't believe I forgot about these. They are so comfortable." She held the fabric close to her body. She only wore silk red boxers and a grey sports bra. Her long auburn hair fell loosely over her shoulders and the pajamas. With a kiddish grin, she threw the night close over the shower curtain, striping down to her underwear. "Do you think I should wear these tonight Baby?" she said, holding the garment in front of her bare body.

Eddy sat there at a loss for words. Two years being married to this woman and she could still snatch the words clean out of his mouth.

The woman's beauty was astonishing. She started walking slowly towards Eddy, now with an air of seduction in her eyes. "Maybe I should just go like this, we are home after all." She dropped the garment to the floor exposing her pink nipples and bare body, if anyone knew how to push Eddy's buttons, it was Sara. She smiled temptingly, putting her hands on Edward's chest and pulling him to her.

Eddy fell into the passionate embrace of his seductress lover. The two kissed passionately, tasting deeply into each other. The sweet smell of peach blossoms filled Eddy's nostrils and threatened to hypnotized him beyond control. Like a vortex opened up before him, it beckoned him to fall unrestrained into it. Then at the precipice of no return Eddy pulled back. "I'm sorry, can we put this off for 30 minutes to an hour?"

Sara's bottom lip puckered and she crossed her arms. She hadn't forgot the professor's's speech for one second. She was just having more fun doing things her way.

The couple sat on their living room sofa. Feet stretched out and popcorn in hand. Hopefully, this would be a good show. Sara had heard the story many times. Professor Lichien Golstros was a major influence on Eddy back in college. He had taught Eddy that their is more to science that becoming famous, and that was making a difference. So far Eddy had lived up to his teacher's guidance. His old mentor had in fact contacted Edward recently, and they had talked about Eddy's research and some of his new discoveries. It was then Lichien had told him about being nominated for the noble prize in biology.

The few insignificant speeches were nearing an end and Lichien was fixing to come up to the podium. Despite watching the event on television, they could see what was going on quite well.
