Chapter 18 | They're Ready To Go! (No references allowed? Sorry, I'm a rebel!)

I tried to stay calm after the risky move I'd just made. It's cool, she reacted fine, maybe she doesn't think I'm a creep. I hope not. I wanted to give it to her because she's been having such a hard time with her rent and it looked like she really wanted it. Plus-I just wanted to be nice.

"Natsu, let's go explore another store!" She said. "Alright!" I left the random rack I'd been staring at and joined her. "I've been thinking." She said. "M-hm?" I asked. "About what we could do in our free time when the Guild's boring or we're taking a break from work. I was thinking maybe we could buy some materials for little Do-It-Yourself activities and do those at my house." She said.

"What kind of Do-It-Yourself activities?" I asked. "Ya know, like wall decorations, or for me make up or, just ya know, whatever we want." She said. "I don't know, Lucy. I don't know if I can sit there and do something for thirty minutes completely still and calm." I said.

"Oh, come on, just try it. It's actually fun! Once you get into it it's really relaxing, maybe something you could do before bed to wind down. You can get REALLY focused on this kind of stuff." She said.

"Fine." I said. "Yes!" She said, and we went to the materialistic store and got a bunch of random junk for doing DIY projects. I was not excited about this. I'd rather be outside picking fights with Gray or something.

She paid at the counter, 15 gold, and we went back to the hotel. "I just don't want to end up spending all of my money! There's so many things I want to buy here!" She said.

When we got back, everyone was up, including Happy though I wasn't sure where he was when we came in here the first time. "We were just preparing to leave." Erza said, standing at her giant suitcase.

"Ok, we'll help!" Lucy said, putting her bags on the floor and joining to pack. I did the same. "Lucy!" Gray yelled. "What?" She asked, barely fazed. "Can you PLEASE come over here and get this out of the corner?!!" He asked.

"What is it? Geez if YOU'RE scared of it I'm in trouble." She said. I looked to see what the commotion was about. Lucy's eyes widened, a blush forming on her face. "GET AWAY!!!" She yelled, kicking Gray. "Sorry. I just found it while tryin' to find something of mine. And I wasn't about to pick it up!" He said.

"What IS it?" I asked. "Lucy's underwear that she SHOULDN'T have in the corner!" Gray said. "I'm sorry, I was tired that night!!!" She argued. "LOOK AWAY SO I CAN GET IT!!!" She yelled. I turned back to my bag.

Good ol' Lucy. Could she not be so loud? Does she WANT us to get kicked out of the hotel? Well, I guess it doesn't matter. We're about to leave anyway.

"Okay, I took care of it." Lucy said after about a minute. "Are we about to leave?" Wendy asked. "Yep, it appears so." Gray said since Erza had her giant bag and was headed towards the door. "Oh, hey Wendy! By the way, thanks for saving my life!!!" I said.

She blushed. "Your welcome. It wasn't that big of a deal." She said. "That big of a DEAL?!! I DIED! And you came in all like 'move, suckas' and healed me like it was nothin'!!! That's so COOL!!!" I said.

"That's not quite how it went..." Lucy said. "Alright, we've got to catch this train." Erza said. "When does it come?" Wendy asked. "In an hour and a half. It'll take us about an hour to walk there, I just wanted to make sure we got there on time." Erza said.

"Oh yeah, we're gonna have to walk..." Lucy said. "What's wrong with walkin'?" I asked. "My leg's starting to cramp up. But it's fine." She said.

"Ya sure? I could carry ya if you want." I said. "That would just be awkward, but thanks for the offer." She said. "Alright, let's get moving." Erza said.
