Emily in MM:
Kim's POV:
I rolled over to the side of my bed as I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock. I groaned as I sat up and the coldness of my room caused me to shiver. I got out of bed and glanced at my clock. "Shit, it's seven already?" I said. "Kim, are you finished yet?" My mom asked from downstairs. I got out of bed and opened my bedroom door. "Not yet. I just got up." I replied back. "Hurry up!" She exclaimed. Time to start another shitty day of school.
*******
I heard the bell ring as I arrived to the door of my first class. Late again. I thought to myself. Before I opened the door and I took a deep breath because I was about to be lectured by the teacher for being late. I entered the loud and hectic classroom. A man I've never seen before sat at the teachers desk. He glanced at me and gestured for me to sit down. I took a seat by the friend Emily who looked like she was in a rush this morning too.
"Rough morning?" I asked and she sighed. "Pretty much." I noticed Brian who was sitting across from me. I guessed he felt me staring at him because he turned around and studied my expression of embarrassment and smirked "Come here." He mouthed. I looked at Emily who raised her eyebrows. I walked over to his table and I sat to the available seat next to Brian. I noticed his friend side eyeing me. I wonder what his problem is. He scanned my face. "You look tired." He said. I brushed my hair out my face. "Sorry." The last thing I wanted to do was look bad in front of him, but here I am looking a mess. He laughed "No worries. You still cute."
His friend next to him coughed and Brian sucked his teeth. "This Kahlil." He pointed at him with his thumb. "Wassup, and you are?" Khalil said. "Kim." I replied. "Oh, I heard about you." I gave him a funny look. "But, not in a bad way." He said. I shook my head. "Good." Being around Brian was making me nervous. I hated it. I tired to show less emotion when I was with him, but It was almost impossible. "You okay?" Brian asked taking me out of my daze. I didn't even realize that I was staring at him. "Sorry, again." I bet I'm turning red. I thought to myself. "It's all good." He said looking down at his phone. "I have tickets to a baseball game." He spoke. "Okay, cool." I said. He looked up from his phone. "Cool?" He asked and I nodded. "Anyways, I was gonna ask if you wanted to go with me."
I'm not a big baseball fan, but if this meant getting to know Brian a little better I'm in for it. "Yeah, I'll go." He smiled "Great. It's between the Dodgers and the Royals" He said. "Royals? What city are they from." I said cluelessly and he laughed. "You're not a expert on these things." "Yep." I replied. "Kansas City." Kahlil said and Brian rolled his eyes. The bell rang for class for our second period of the day. "Just text me the details. Here's my number." I handed him a piece of loose leaf paper. "Alright, see you soon." He said taking the paper and exiting out the class room.
Emily's POV:
"This lunch is horrible." I mumbled as I poked the clear substance on my plate "I think was supposed to be jello." Jack said as he pushed his tray away from him. "I don't see the problem with it." Trey said as he took a bite of it. Jack laughed "You're gross bro." I looked around the cafeteria trying to find Kim. I spotted her talking to Brian in the lunch line.
"Yo, look!" I shook Jack's shoulder. "What?" He said. "Look at Kim." I said doing a celebration dance in my seat. "Aye, Kim." Jack shouted and signaled Kim and Brian to sit at our table. Kim looked and beamed and I gave her a thumbs up. When they reached our table we tried our best not to ask too much questions. I watched Kim as she was trying to understand what Brian was talking about as he was explaning basketball to her. I honestly wish me and Adam had these type of conversations. All he does is talk about himself. I mentally rolled my eyes at the thought of it.
I was stunned by two boys that sat at our table. One beside Brian and one beside Kim. "What are you doing over here?" One guy asked. "With her?" The other one asked. Brian took his arm from around Kim and focused his attention on the two boys. "Leave her alone Odell." "So, you gone choose this broad over your boys?" Odell said. "Nigga, is you fruity or something?" Jack spoke up. "Leave her alone." Odell stood up. "And you are?" He asked. "Ain't nobody tryna fight yo dumbass. Sit down." Jack said as he stood up out his seat. "Odell." Brian said. He gripped his shoulder. "Just get out of here." Odell sneered at Brian. "Alright, I'll get out your way." He said carrying his tray back to his table.
