Leo's POV
----------------
It was his third day off his medications and Leo was going insane. The doctors said he wouldn't be taking them for a few weeks while they made him a new prescription, a lighter one that causes less head and stomach aches. It was day 3 and he already felt antsy. He decided to stay in his room until he felt less crazed so he wouldn't do anything he'd regret later on. But that's when he heard the knock.
"Leo? Leo, it's me. Hazel. Nico's sister?" She said through the door. Leo's eyes widened at the sound of the name of her brother. Nico. He knew that when he first laid eyes on him that he'd be breaking every rule to be with him- but unfortunately, his anti-social behaviors got the best of him. They ended up having the awkwardest of small talk, which eventually led up to a good, stable friendship.
"Hi Hazel." Leo said, as he swung open the door.
"Hey.. Nico isn't feeling too well, maybe you could help me out?" She asked with a small smile.
"Sure, sure..." He said, stepping out of his room. He followed her back to room 13.
"Hey Nico..." He said, waving as he entered.
Leo saw Nico's cheeks redden and felt his own face get warm. Hazel smirked at this.
"Hello..." Nico answered quietly
"Hazel told me you weren't feeling good?" He asked, sitting down across from him.
"Oh- yeah... I heard Bianca again." He said, frowning.
"Oh..." Leo said. "Well what'd she say?"
"The usual... 'Nico, you were supposed to keep me safe... And you failed.'..." Nico said in a light yet irritated tone.
Leo nodded and glanced at Hazel who looked as if she wanted to hug Nico, but knowing him he'd tell her to stop. Hazel looked back at him and nods, indicating that it should be /Leo/ doing the hugging.
Leo took a deep breath and wrapped his arms around the pale boy gently. He heard Nico release a breath as he had been holding it in. Leo placed his chin on Nico's head and patted his back. He heard quiet whimpers as Nico began to tear up slightly, but suck it up. He buried his face into Leo's chest, and hesitantly hugged back. Hazel smiled as she whispered, "I'll go now.. Tell me if you need anything, Nico.". Nico gave her a silent nod as she headed out the door.
"Nico... You know it's alright to cry with me, right?" He whispers into his friends' ear.
"Yeah... But it just... I just.." Nico trailed off.
"You can tell me... Don't you trust me?" Leo asked, pulling back to see Nico's face.
"I trust you, yeah... But..." Nico bit his lip.
"But?" Leo asked.
"I don't want to burden you." He said in a quiet voice, looking down slightly.
Leo sighed and did something he knew he'd regret later. He took Nico's face in his hands and kissed him- it was a short kiss, but a very meaningful one. After they broke apart, Leo stood up.
"I should go..." He said.
"Uhm..." Nico said, quite speechless.
"If you want I'll come back after lunch..." Leo asked.
Nico nodded "I think I'd like that..." He answered, smiling slightly, still blushing a cherry red. Leo grinned as he stalked back to his room.
'Stupid doctors...' he thought. He knew he shouldn't've done that. But then again, he knew he should've done it earlier.
