"Disgusting!"

"Sick!"

"This is unheard of!"

They stood fused in the middle of all the hatred and foul words that were thrown at them. Blue Diamond's throne inched towards the fusion menacingly. "How dare you fuse with my Pearl." They unfused. "It was an accident!" Rosalie pleaded. "You will be broken for this!" she threatened.

Suddenly, Pearl grabbed his arm and ran straight off the edge of the site. As he fell, Pearl thought of what he'd done, and he didn't regret it one bit.

---

After the two had regained consciousness, Rosalie began to panic. "How could you do this?!" he screamed. "Now we're stuck on this stupid rock forever!" "... I'm sorry..." Pearl mumbled, tears had already formed in his eyes. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't hold them back. Rosalie, suddenly feeling bad for the servent, carefully put his arms around Pearl's lanky form to comfort him. This was the first time he heard Pearl's voice. "Hey," he asked. "How come you never talk?" Pearl stared at him, confused. Rosalie became flustered. "I-I mean, you never spoke when I was there." Pearl pushed his way out of the comfort of Rosalie's arms, making him a little disappointed. "I'm not supposed to talk. Or even reveal my eyes. We're not really allowed much freedom. I am a Pearl after all. I'm made to serve higher ranking gems. We aren't supposed to be our own gem..." he declared sadly. Rosalie sighed and changed the subject, "So now wjat are we gonna do?" Pearl thought for a moment, then had an idea. "We'll look for shelter, then we--"

A loud whistling could then be heard. "Get down!!" Rosalie exclaimed. He summoned his sheild and grabbed Pearl bridal-style, then ran as fast as possible away from the explosions going off behind them. They soon found a cave to hide in where he set Pearl down and disarmed himself. Pearl pushed the hair in his face aside so he could see Rosalie clearly. His dark eyes sparkled in the Earth's setting sunlight. "...thank you..." he mumbled. Rosalie's cheeks began to turn a red, but he quickly turned away so Pearl couldn't see.

---

Rosalie has built the two of them a fire and they both sat in its light in silence. Pearl had his knees to his chest as he held his thin legs in place with his also thin arms. Rosalie, however, sat with his legs crossed and his hands in front of the fire as he tried to warm them. Pearl glanced over to the opening of the cave and saw that it was night. Interested, he stood and walked toward it while Rosalie tried to gain his attention. Pearl gazed into the deep purple abyss-like sky that was dotted with bright white specs. Rosalie then followed in Pearl's footsteps and looked up with himm "You can see Homeworld from here." Pearl stated as he pointed to a large, sparkling star. Rosalie hummed in agreement and then continued to star gaze with him.

"I've never had an extra set of eyes before..." Pearl broke the silence. "Me neither." Rosalie chuckled. "Whenever I fuse with my team mates, it's always been me, but bigger. When we fusedb I was just kinda..." "Floating?" Pearl finished. "Yeah." There was a moment of silence. "...it was nice..." Rosalie blushed. "Yeah..." Together, the two watched the Earth's sun rise, while both thinking of the lives that they were meant to live out for eternity. Pearl, a mindless servent. And Rosalie, a common foot-soldier.

Pearl leaned over and settled himself in the crook of Rosalie's neck. At first he flinched, but then Rosalie put his arm around him and pulled him close.
