"Asexual? What the actual hell does that mean?" Shinoa inquired, resting her face on her right hand. Mika and Yuu shared a look, and Yuu shrugged.
"It's where...ah...Mika, you explain it." Yuu blushed lightly, rolling his eyes. Shinoa glanced at Mika, waiting.
"Well," Mika explained, stretching out on Yuu's bed, "being asexual, or 'ace', as some say, means that you don't engage in sex."
"WHAT?!" Shinoa gasped, "N-No sex?! At all?!"
Yuu snickered while Mika nodded, "Jeez, Shinoa, sex doesn't make a relationship."
"I can't imagine my relationship with Mitsuba without sex, to be perfectly fucking honest." Shinoa admitted, "But isn't sex, like, part of a relationship? I thought I read somewhere that sex helps maintain a certain...how the fuck do I say this?...A certain closeness, I guess?"
"I get what you mean," Mika said slowly, trying to figure out how best to put his response.
"We don't need sex to feel close." Yuu interrupted Mika's train of thought. "We connect emotionally. That's the kind of bond we want."
Yuu flashed a smile to Mika, who was actually surprised Yuu came up with a solid answer. Shinoa, ever the skeptic, pushed on. "But, don't you guys ever want to, you know, have sex?"
"Hm..." Mika hummed, shooting a questioning look at Yuu. Mika personally never felt a secual drive towards Yuu, but he knew Yuu could sometimes feel something.
"I guess I sometimes feel like I could...you know." Yuu began, blushing, "But it passes. It's more of a in-the-heat-of-a-moment thing. See, the only one I'd ever even consider having sex with is Mika, but only because of..."
"Our emotional bond." Mika finished for Yuu with a smile, taking his hand. "See, the strong emotional connection has to there first. Then supported by trust, faith, and love. Shinoa, I didn't fall in love with Yuu because he's insanely hot."
Yuu blushed while Shinoa giggled, entranced. Mika continued, "I actually fell in love with his personality first. Because to me, the outside means nothing if the actual person is an asshole."
"But Yuu is an asshole!" Shinoa smirked.
"Shut the fuck up, Shinoa." Yuu growled.
"Yuu-chan can actually be quite cute and gentle when he w--"
"I AM NOT FUCKING CUTE! I AM FEAR ITSELF!" Yuu snapped, yanking his hand away from Mika and pouted.
"Whatever you say, love." Mika chuckled, blowing a kiss to his grumpy lover.
"Wait, so do you guys kiss?" Shinoa wondered.
At that, Yuu laughed. "What, do you think we never do anything with each other just because we're ace? Of course we kiss!" Yuu smirked, "and I am TOTALLY the better kisser."
Mika rolled his eyes but offered no counter. "Whatever you say, Yuu-chan. "
"Do you guys, like, give each other hickies and shit?" Shinoa requested, her questions now surpassing boundaries. Yuu blushed blood red, but Mika had no trouble answering. He was just naturally comfortable with things like that. Yuu, however, was not.
"Yes. God, yes." Mika chuckled, winking fondly at Yuu. "In fact, our dear Yuu-chan was sporting some of my lovebites last week."
"Oh, shut up, Mika. What about the week before then? You had to wear a scarf, they were so bad." Yuu retaliated.
"Cherry boy!" Shinoa gasped in mock horror, "And you didn't even tell me? Tsk. Mother is displeased."
"Like I would fucking tell you!" Yuu shouted, glaring at the laughing girl. "And don't call yourself my mom. That's too weird for me."
"My little boy is growing up so fast," Shinoa fake sniffled, "Biting his boyfriend's neck and shit."
"SHINOA, I SWEAR TO FUCK, I WILL END YOU!" Yuu hissed, his face glowing brighter. Mika was laughing, totally leaving Yuu hang out to dry. "Whose side are you fucking on?!" Yuu growled at his boyfriend, who just couldn't contain his laughter.
"But, really though, Shinoa." Mika said with a smile, "Yuu and I, our relationship is just as valid as yours and Mitsuba's. We do everything you two do, minus the sex. That doesn't make it any less exciting, nor does it mean less love."
"We just express it differently." Yuu summerised, quickly pecking Mika on the cheek.
Shinoa smiled at the two.
She knew they were perfect for each other.

((I've heard a bit of controversy on Mika's and Yuu's relationship, and how Mika, as a vampire, couldn't feel pleasure or have a sex drive like a human. So, I made a thing. It's perfectly acceptable and valid to be in, or be part of an asexual/demisexual/greysexual relationship. I personally identify as demisexual, so I based a lot of this fic on my own experience.
