{There's an issue with the cabinet. Addek.}
"Shut up! Just shut up! This is stupid!"
"No Addison, what's stupid is the amount of hot water you manage to use up every morning!" Derek conquered, swearing as he struggled to stuff the last of his paperwork into his briefcase.
"I'm sorry Derek" Addison replied emotionlessly, "maybe if we lived in an actual house I wouldn't have to worry about using up our 4 litres of hot water" she exaggerated.
"Maybe if you didn't come to Seattle we wouldn't have that problem either" Derek muttered loud enough for Addison to hear.
Addie's throat caught. Derek said these kinds of things constantly, but that didn't stop the words from leaving puncture wounds in her heart.
"Whatever" She grumbled, then went back to her cupboard above the bed to retrieve today's pair of shoes.
Addison and Derek were struggling. Well, they were more than struggling; they were three quarters of the way to crashing to the bottom.
Many people thought the only reason they were trying to rekindle their relationship was so they could say that they had tried. But really, Addison wanted nothing more than to be married to the man she had met so many years ago in med. school. The man who would surprise her with a quick kiss whenever they passed by in the hall, the man who would leave a box of chocolate in her locker or purse the first day of every one of her periods, or the man who reminded her every chance he could that he loved her more than anything.
She craved that man.
But it felt as though nothing she did would bring him back to her. That man was long gone.
Derek was ready for Addison to leave. He reminded her every chance he got. Maybe they had a chance if he hadn't met Meredith. But he did, and there's no erasing that.
He was completely baffled at how much he used to love this She-Satan.
Long ago he loved her unconditionally. Every flaw on her body was physically perfect in his eyes. Every quirk she had made him love her more.
Now even the sight of her puts him in a bad mood.
The only reason he was in this tailer with her was so he could say that he had tried with her. After a fair amount of time he would leave.
Addison crawled up on the bed, causing her grey pencil skirt to hike up.
"I'm leaving after I finish this coffee" he swirled the last couple sips around in the white mug, "we should probably take separate vehicles, I'm working late tonight."
Addison's shoulder drooped at the mention of working late. Even if they had been fighting this morning she still wanted to do something with him tonight. Though she knew very well that if he came home he'd either go straight to bed or open up some sort of medical journal and not give Addison a second glance until the next morning when he found something new to badger her about.
"Fine" she replied nonchalantly.
Addie yanked on the spring loaded cupboard harder than she should have and it flung open; causing the corner to hit her right above her eye.
"Agh!" Addie moaned with the pain. Pressing her palm to her head.
Derek looked up at the noise and scoffed,
"Serves you right" he smirked, trying to sound as though he were joking; even though he wasn't.
The smirk was quickly wiped away when Addison drew back her hand from her forehead and it was coated with blood.
