Special Days Ch. 3

"Oh gracious.. Why did I even come here?"

Hikari just woke up.. But seeing the view of the beach just right at the left of her bed, instead of making her feel excited, it made her fidgety.. 

"Okay! Don't worry 'me', you'll be fine!", she said to herself thinking that it would cheer her up..

As soon as she made up her mind (that she has to face these kinds of situations one way or another), she swiftly dressed herself with a pretty baby blue summer dress which Akira bought for her, along with the swimsuit, and a laced sandals that matches her dress. Wearing such clothes isn't really Hikari's thing, but Akira said Kei would like it if he saw Hikari wearing such. Just the thought of Kei looking at Hikari admiringly is making Hikari blush.. What am I doing? I shouldn't be imagining things! Kyaaaaaa! , Hikari said to herself. We all know how clumsy Hikari is right? Just then, while she was fidgeting, a box right beside her foot made her trip over.

And just in time! Kei is about to check on her.. I'm worried. What's taking Hikari this long? , He said to himself.. Just like Hikari, he's also nervous on what is about to happen today. Of course, it isn't normal for them anymore. They are not just rivals or bestfriends of whatever. They are committed now. They're in a relationship. A kind of thing that needs to be taken seriously. And just with the thought of it, Kei like stressing himself. The Takishima group of companies trusts him more than his father, the very owner of it. But being with Hikari, it's nothing. All the pain he has been going through, all the work that has been piling up and all the pressure he has been receiving, they are all gone whenever he feels her presence. Her smile, her good nature, her purity, her immaturity and the way she works hard. He said to himself, "It's too much for me". She has everything he could ever wish for. The most perfect girl for him. He can't even believe that she would go searching for him in London just to be with him. She's nice, kindhearted and gentle. And he can't believe that someone like her would love him back. Someone who's hardhearted, a tyrant, stubborn and always-good-at-everything kind of man. Everyone saw him like that. But Hikari saw what's inside.  Not the Kei who's King-like. She saw the Kei who is caring, loving, supportive, lovable and the perfect person to be her rival! She has never felt insecurity on his presence. In fact, she loved his company (although she doesn't show).

I love her.. Kei said to himself. That's what he always says in his mind whenever he thinks of her. I know I only told her once.. Because it's making me feel embarassed.. All the thinking of what might happen today made Kei's hands sweat, just similar to what is happening to Hikari.

"Ughhhh! What am I doing?! I need to go now!" Hikari swoop open the door. Then there. That's the first time in that day they had laid eyes on each other. Kei is wearing a floral sea blue polo-shirt, an above-the-knee beach shorts and a simple sandals that doesn't look expensive (but it is). Then gently, Kei made a very handsome grin that could have made any women falter. He rarely does this or, rather, he never does. Or maybe he always does, but only if he's with Hikari.. Upon seeing Kei, with that wickedly handsome smile, Hikari almost fell with all her over-flowing feelings for him. But she had her grip on the door knob, so it isn't really obvious.

"What took you so long? We have been waiting downstairs for you.." Kei is kind of struggling to keep his tone calm. Just right before his eyes is the girl he has always wanted. He wanted to hug her and tell her how much he loves her. But he just can't. Why can't I even tell her how much beautiful she is  wearing that dress?!!!! He wants to tell her that the dress suits her well. No, he wants to tell her that any dress would fit her perfectly or anything would look good on her. But all the words we're retreating right back on his mouth whenever he tries to say it. He isn't afraid and he knows it. But why can't he tell it? Why?

"Are you trying to say something?" Hikari said breaking the ice. Kei didn't hear Hikari answering his question. His mind is already flying. "Hey, I said I'm sorry if I took this long.. I was looking for my pen back there".

"What were you looking for?" Kei said, after waking up from his conversation with himself.

"I was looking for my pen. The one that you gave me.." Hikari said, forcing her self not to smile. But she blushed instead. Kei grabbed her arms, and tucked it in his, leading her to the stairwell.

"Why? You brought it here? What for? We're on a vacation." That's what he said after almost a minute of thinking. He's feeling stupid for saying such harsh words, although his handsome face doesn't show. But for Hikari, it's nothing. After all they've been through together, she knows Kei very well than any of the other SA students. "I just wanted to bring it! So what?". She's just that comfortable with Kei. She could be as vulgar as possible, just like he is to her. The two of them are similar in many other ways.. It also includes on telling what they feel about each other.

And there, they took the last step on the stairs. They say everybody in SA looking at them. Akira, Ryuu, Tadashi, Jun and Megumi are looking at them, failing to make the atmosphere less awkward.

"Hey guys! I think we should get going! Right Hikari?" Ryuu said, trying his best to look that everything is still the same. Although nothing has totally changed. Even back in time when Kei and Hikari are still friends, only Hikari have felt the special treatment of Kei. Only Hikari. So, nothing has really changed. Except for one thing. They didn't know they have been holding hands unconsciously.
