Special Days Ch. 4

It sure is hard trying to compose yourself when it's this awkward. Hikari thought. The atmosphere now between the group is really different. Akira, Hikari's best friend, is now dating Tadashi which has been Akira's mortal enemy before they became lovers. Megumi is now with Yahiro, Kei and Akira's childhood friend. Jun is with Sakura, which was really surprising since Jun has became very distant from girls (except for the girls in SA). Sakura has been the first girl to make him act like this. Back to the happy 'Jun' he used to be... And Ryuu... has.. his pets.. He hasn't gotten his mind in all this thing called 'love' yet..     "I'm sure I'll get on with it when I get to forget about mappy (his pet hamster)", he said to himself.

They were heading towards the beach. A beach wherein they have rented. As usual.

"Do you really have to rent this whole place?", said Hikari.

Akira glanced at her and gave her a grin. A nonsensical grin. "Yes, of course my dear, I don't want boys eyeing you with their dirty thoughts floating in mid air."

"But it feels better when there are people around. Don't it?" Hikari asked, looking at the group and expecting them to agree with her.

"Akira's right, you know."

Hikari almost leapt. That was the first time Kei talked since they got out of the inn. She wanted to argue, but since it was Kei who second the motion, she has no choice but to go with it. Usually, she protests and fights for what she thinks was right. But now, everything has changed since, she thought, the two of them are dating.

"Let's go, Tadashi!! Let's play volleyball!" Akira grabbed Tadashi on the collar and scooted.

"I guess me and Megumi will just be by the bay." Yahiro said. Hikari knew that he isn't that much of a romantic, but she felt excited for Megumi when Yahiro suggested that.

"Jun! Sakura! What about the two of you? Would you like to go with us?" Megumi called. It's pretty obvious that she doesn't want to be alone with him now. Megumi sure is shy, Hikari thought.

"Sure.. That sounds fun." Jun said with a trace of smile in his lips. He, then, grabbed Sakura by the hand and followed Megumi..

Hikari hasn't realized that they are alone, yet again. She's worried she might bore Kei to death. She isn't that much of a joker like Akira and Tadashi. And she isn't even that interesting when it comes to conversing.. Her mind is flooded again with thoughts on how to make him have fun.. What she doesn't know was he already is.

Hikari was surprised to hear a burst of laughter from Kei just behind her. She turned to look and saw heaven.

Kei is totally gorgeous and breathtakingly handsome. He is looking at her with his hazelnut eyes full of mirth, red lips curled with great amusement and face burning from laughter. "Do you always get that nervous when they leave us alone?"

She wanted to say, 'YES! Always! You always make me nervous.. The way your eyes sparkle when you look at me, the way the corner of your lips quirk with suppressed laughter and the way your voice soothes the feelings I've been burning to tell you but I just can't BECAUSE you make me nervous!' Instead, she ended up blushing.

He reached her hand and held it like letting her go is the most impossible thing to do, then he smiled. " You needn't to worry. I can wait until the day you get to tell me the words I've been meaning to hear."

Hikari was confused. 'What does he mean? I thought we were going out.. It's understood that I love him..' She wanted to know why so much she got to verbalize it, at last.

"What do you mean?", she said.

She was surprised to see him blushing, and he isn't even averting his eyes. It really is rare to see a boy blush, especially when that boy is Takishima Kei.

"You know what I mean..." he said.

"B-b-b-but.... I-i-i thought we're already da....daaa....dating?", she blurted with all her might..
