One Shot In The Dark

It's a warm summers night and not a lot of ponies are out. Phoe and Doc walked side by side. They just finished watching random ponies shoot targets at the shooting range, and it was exciting. It was silent for a couple minutes until Doc talked.

"I'm hungry, wanna go get some food?" She stopped and stared at Phoe.

"Sure, um, where do you want to go?"

Doc thought for a minute. She wasn't really hungry, she just wanted to go somewhere with him.

"I don't care, I just wanna hang out with you." she replied, not looking at Phoe.

Phoe sits there, thinking about what they should do. His face lights up and he gives Doc a big smile.

"How about I show you what it feels like to fly?"

Doc jumps up, excitedly. She stares at him in disbelief.

"For real?!"

"Yeah!"

"OH MY CELESTIA YES!"

"Alright, get on my back." He smiles and kneels down so Doc could hop on.

"Hang on tight!" He yells as he opens his wings, wide.

Doc wraps her front legs around Phoe's neck, Phoe coughs and she quickly loosens up so he could breathe.

Phoe starts off with a small, slow trot, but he starts to speed up and soon enough they were in the air, heading towards Princess Celestias beautiful sunset.

Doc looks down and immediately regrets doing so.

"Wow we're up high!"

She looks back up and stares at the sunset.

"Wow!"

Phoe chuckles, "Beautiful, isn't it?"
Doc nods, "It sure is."

They float in the air for a couple minutes, until Phoe lands gently on the ground.

Phoe sits down and Doc slides off of him like a slide.

"That was really fun, I want wings, that would be fun."

"It's hard to get used to at first but practice makes perfect."

They both sit there, staring at the sunset. Phoe moves over and puts an arm around Doc, and she leans against him.
