Hopefully I can finish Chapter Five tonight?

The barrel stopped between Colton's eyes as he picked himself up and stepped ahead to shield his companions. The gun was loaded, deadly. It had been fired before, and the victim was laying in the cell beside them.

"Who are you?" The disembodied voice asked, sounding frusterated. "You aren't supposed to be alive! The entire prison is supposed to be wiped out."

"Who is asking?" Colton snapped, daring. Wilson swallowed deeply, while Jacob stood next to the cell unfazed, sneaking glances at the corpse. "What do you mean, wiped out? What's going on?"

"That's what I'm trying to figure out," the voice said converstionally. "You three are the only living, sane people I've come across."

"Did you shoot him?" Colton asked, nodding to the corpse at Jacob's feet. A chuckle reverberated through the darkness, causing the hair to stand up on the back of Colton's neck.

"I'll let you men figure that out for yourself." Red light flashed off the gun before it disappeared, and shadows fell along the walls. The man was gone, leaving no trace of his presence. The cell doors rattled vigorously in the next quick moment, the sound of rattling bars bouncing off the walls themselves. The boys were still, exchanging scared glances.

"L-lets keep moving," Colton stammered. "We need to see if there are any others who are alive." Without waiting, he started forward and slid around a corner, disappearing into the darkness.

*FLASHBACK*

"You're useless!" His Father spat at him, alcohol flying from his lips into Colton's face. Tears rolled down Colton's face as he stood among the chips of broken plates, digging into his bare feet. This was only the first of many nights. I'm stuck with this drunk, Colton thought, tears falling from his chin one at a time as his Father brought his back hand against his cheek.

Colton shook his head with force, clenching his fists. Do not remember him, he told himself. And the dazed face faded from his memory. He's bad. He's the reason she left you.

"Who do you think that man was?" Wilson spoke up, his voice wavering a little.

"No idea," Colton replied tonelessly, unfurling his fingers."Just watch the shadows. I don't particularly want to run into whoever that guy was again. We have to focus."

"Obviously," Jacob snorted, and Colton whirled around to glare at him. "Don't give me that look. Survive or die. That's the number one rule now if we want to get out of here."

Sorry guys... This Chapter is complete and utter CRAP. I can't focus tonight, I have a lot on my mind, I'm stressed and I'm just so sorry.

Hopefully Chapter Six will be better. :)

My apologies.
