I just don't really know how much longer I can keep this up...

Rattling cell doors, occasional delusions of whispering in their heads, the three men walked on. Always keeping their eyes out for the shadowy man they had incountered earlier. Jacob would claim to see something moving in the shadows, and Colton would comply, walking away into the darkness for five or so seconds only to come back and say there was nothing there. Both he and Wilson believed Jacob was asking only for attention, and whenever the blond spoke up, the two would just ignore him and pretend like he hadn't said a thing.

But Jacob wasn't asking for attention; he had seen something. And as it turns out, he wasn't the only one who had seen it.

They stopped after three more hours of walking, three hearts beating rapidly in their chests as they stopped to catch their breath. There were even lower levels of the Prison they hadn't heard about; damp, dark, reeking of who knew what. "How long do you think it will take to search this place?" Wilson asked, turning to Colton, who was staring up and down the empty, white washed corridor.

He shrugged. "No idea."

"Get out,"

Again, the men jumped, and looks of surprise were tossed around. Nobody had heard anything in the last three to four hours, everything and everyone was silent--well, all for Jacob claiming to see things moving in the darkness.

"Leave! All four of you. No good will come from you if you stay!"

"All four of us?" Jacob questioned aloud, a puzzled frown on his face. "Could it have been--"

A chilling screech echoed off the walls, followed by the deafening pop of gun fire. Panicked, Colton slid past Jacob and Wilson, and broke out into a jog, heading for the doors at the end of the hallway. He shoved on them with as much force as he could gather, and the two large white steel doors swung open, revealing something that made Colton stop in his tracks. The others too, stopping in shock behind him.

In the center of the large dome shaped room dangled a light bulb from a chain, the chain disappearing high into the darkness. Below the lightbulb, stood a figure all in black, holding a shotgun in both hands, while also holding a knife. The barrels of the gun were pointed at someone with a large bloody hole in their head, security clothing drenched in blood and other things. The man with the hole through his head raised his arms in a flailing motion, giving off a loud screeching chuckle once more, before pitching himself forward. The man in black stepped aside, and the guard fell face first into three still and motionless, bloody bodies.

The man in black looked up at Jacob, then Colton and Wilson. A pleased smile lit up his face in the darkness, one of relief. "Glad to know you three are still alive."
