Merlin sighed as he stood up from his seat at the round table. He moved his cloak as he walked out of the room. It was the anniversary of Arthur's death and frankly Merlin didn't feel like celebrating. He just wanted to go for a walk on his own. It was only midday and he was already done with this day. He walked out of the room, all the eyes on his back as the door closed behind him. Gwen has made him a knight and a Court sorcerer. She lifted the ban on magic, of course it was regulated which is why they had Merlin there.

"Merlin." Gwen shouted, making Merlin turn around. Gwen smiled sadly. "Are you okay?"

Merlin gave a smile, he knew it was fake but he didn't want to make Gwen sad. "I'm fine. Really, I just need some air and a walk. I'll be in later." He bowed before walking away, his blue cloak traveling behind him. He sighed and walked into the closest room, tears leaking from his eyes as he did so. He closed it and started tearing up. He couldn't do this. His best friend was gone and everyday it gets harder to grasp.

Merlin wiped his eyes, but not before getting blinded by something. He glanced up and noticed something he hasn't seen for years. The horn of Cathbhadh. Merlin sucked in a breath and rushed over to it, gripping it tight.

"Of course." Merlin says, his voice low and scratchy. He looked around, seeing this was Arthur's storage room. Where all of his stuff lies. Merlin nodded to himself, now knowing what he must do. Hiding the horn under his cape and chainmail, he walked out of the storage room and rushed to his room. Ever since Gaius passed away two years ago, Merlin has taken over Gaius' chambers. Merlin was even more depressed after Gaius, but he knew Gaius' death was coming. He prepared for it. But Arthur's still pained him.

"Merlin!" This time it was Gwaine who said that, following Merlin into his chambers.

"Yes Gwaine?" Merlin asks.

"Are you alright?" Gwaine asks, going over to put his hand on his shoulder.

Merlin smiled. "I'm fine. I'm just gonna go for a ride. I don't know where but I'll be back soon." He says, stuffing his bag before walking back towards the door.

"Hang on, you can't go alone. It's too dangerous." Gwaine protests.

Merlin sighed and looked over at Gwaine. "If you want to come, you can't tell anyone." He says before leaving the room.

Gwaine following behind.

*the Great Stones*

Merlin and Gwaine came to a stop at the Stones and Merlin jumped down from the horse. He looked back at Gwaine who was confused as he jumped down the horse. Merlin gripped the horn and walked over to the stones.

"What is this place, Merlin?" Gwaine questions, holding Merlins horse.

Merlin smiled and glanced back. "5 years ago, Arthur and I stood here and I watched as Arthur summoned Uther with the horn of Cathbhadh." He says sadly.

"Isn't that dangerous?" Gwaine asks.

"It was, but that was because Arthur didn't know how to use it. But I do. I'm going to talk to Arthur." He says and walks to the middle of the stones.
