Merlins Unknown Years

Summary: Merlin is in 2017, but how did she make it this far? What happened after Arthur died? What happened to the Knights? How did Camelot Fall? How has merlin faired over the years? Does she still have faith that Arthur will return, or has she given up for good?(this is just a small snippet. Like a summary of Merlins life and its Fem Merlin!)

 
  After sending Arthur off to his peaceful encounter, Merlin returned to Camelot, only to find out Gwaine had passed along too. Many lives were lost in the battle of Camlaan and so many suffered from the aftermath. Queen Guinevere was left to rule, heartbroken and sad. Merlin, when she returned, was welcomed with opened arms and after much convicing to lift the ban on magic,  named court sorceress.

  A long while passed of peace, life going on as normal and Gwen and Arthurs son Varen grew up to be a great ruler of Camelot, but when Gwen passed away, a few years after Varen's coronation, everything in Camelot except Merlin, seemed to change and evolve around her. Varen needed a queen, but no one seemed to fit his pace, until he spent a few good hunts and days with Merlin. She married into the Pendragon  name and ruled as Court Sorceress and Queen.

  20 years passed and after a son was born, Varen became sick from a parasite that ate him from the inside. They found out it was a sorcerer who killed the King. Merlin and Barron mourned his death, but still hadn't any idea on who cast the spell. Barron, being sixteen, started reading about his great grandfathers point of veiws on magic. Sure its been legal for so many years, almost a century, but Barron found it revolting. After his coronation, and Merlin stepping down as Queen to become just Court Sorceress, King Barron started soemthing ruthless. He fought with Merlin and got magic banned after 5 years of arguing. Merlin was banished from Camelot.

  Merlin watched from a distance as everything slowly died out and Barron becoming more and more like Uther. After what felt like ages, Camelot eventually got overrun and taken by Saxons, leaving it to ruins.

  Merlin eventually got over the initial depression of everything, and started traveling the world, still hopeful that Arthur would return. She fought in many wars, and watched as the world of magic, Emyrs and Camelot became merely a myth that is told around a  campfire. She accepted this was how it would be, and moved on.

  The years turned to centuries and she watched as mankind evolved and grow. She watched Wagons and hosres slowly turn to cars and watched as the worlds medicine and machines blossomed. Around the world, she found that some places exceeded more than others.

  After she was done traveling, she ended up settling down in London, working as a College professor for a University. Currently thats where she worked, her mind always occupied with students and grading. Rarely does she find herself thinking back on Camelot or her history with it. Merlin Pendragon no longer felt kt was her duty to think about it anymore.

  Her beliefs on The Once and Future King slowly dwindled over the years as she gave up on trying to wait for him. She no longer believed in the stories the druids told her or the ones Kilgrarrah prophesied. She just accepted she couldn't die, unless by a blade forged in a dragons breath, and continued on like a human being. That is where she will remain, and hopefully, try to live on from her painful past.

  Thats the least she wanted from her immortal life. And thats what she got.
