Mick Carter pushed opened the doors of his gaff. Smiling cheerfully, he welcomed the early starters to their second home.
"The usual?" Mick asked, already grabbing a glass from the side. The customers nodded and began their day as usual, gossiping about the previous day's events.
Mick spotted his daughter ease down the stairs.
"Stop right there young lady."
Nancy stood still, knowing what her dad was about to enforce.
"Guess who's shift it is tonight? Oh yours!" He stated, looking slightly sly.
Nancy spun around, sighing.
"Yea pops." She mumbled, punching her dads arm in a humerus manner as he passed.
It was Friday, and Nancy already knew that it was going to be heaving as the day went on. She grabbed the phone, which was balancing on a bottle of vodka and called Lee, knowing he shouldn't leave her on her jack. It went to answer machine.
"Great." Nancy sarcastically spluttered.

As evening rolled around, Nancy, along with Trace continued to serve the customers who spilled into the pub.

Lee's eyes fluttered. He rolled over, realising he wasn't in his own bed. He shot up, remembering where he was. A sigh of relief was exhaled as he remembered what happened. Whitney pushed open the door,
"Aren't you supposed to be helping Nance today?" She asked curiously.
He glanced at the clock,
"WHAT?! How is it already 4pm?"
Lee jumped out of bed and shoved on a pair of scraggly jeans and a red shirt, as he opened the door Whitney coughed. Knowing his girlfriends signs, he turned around and gave her a quick peck on the cheek,
"Love you!" He spluttered, running across the square,
"Love you too!" She called back, smiling with joy.

Mick winced at the sound of a glass breaking below.
"What was that?" Linda asks, stepping into the room cradling the dazed baby.
"The melts downstairs." Mick replied, rolling his eyes and standing up ready to observe the chaos.
"MICK, MICK." A familiar voiced bellowed from downstairs, sounding slightly panicked.
Linda stood there as Mick brushed passed.
"I'll be back in a tic!" He announced with a cheeky wink, making his wife giggle.

As he reached the bottom of the stairs, a recognisable figure stood.
"Mick, come quick it's Nancy."
His face went into a panic. He rushed into the boozer, stepping on some shattered glass in the process.
"Nancy." He shouted, dropping down beside his fitting daughter, knowing exactly what to do.
