(picture of Alia's house to the side)

As I stood in my wolf form in front of my mate, he just stared at me like I had two heads. Didn't your mother or father ever tell you it's rude to stare? I asked, giving him a wolfish grin. S-sorry I've just never seen a white wolf up close before, just pictures. He told me, mesmerized by my appearance. My parents were as shocked as you are. I replied and bounded off towards my house as lightning speed.

"This is your house? It's huge!" My mate exclaimed. As much as I liked to call him my mate I had to know his name. "Hey, I uh didn't catch your name." I said as I unlocked the back door. "Oh right, my names Jake and your the new girl Alia right?" He asked, I just nodded. As we walked threw the Den, to the kitchen, Jake kept .saying things like "This is so big" or "Why doesn't our Alpha have this kinda place?" and the last one that made me turn around and almost loose my control "Your family must be filthy rich!" At that one I whirled on Jake a dead look in my eyes. "We're not 'filthy rich'! Yes we have more money than most but WE ARE NOT RICH!" My voice boomed and Jake had cowered away. After I finished he'd turned away and I felt so bad. "Jake wait, I didn't mean to lash out like that! I just don't like people say we're rich. Jake please." I said it a pleading voice on the verge of crying. He turned and looked at me. "Oh I'm sorry Lia, I didn't mean to ignore you like that, please don't cry." He said to me and came towards me, hugging me tightly to himself. I buried my face into his chest, his chin resting on the top of my head. I pulled away and felt a tear slid down my cheek, Jake wiped it away with his thumb and leaned down resting his forehead against mine whispering "I love you and will always protect you." I looked into his eyes and saw that he meant it. I closed my eyes and let my lips softly brush his. I pulled away completely and went up the Den stairs to the kitchen Jake trudging behind me. "Could it've killed you guys to put in an elevator?" Jake asked. "Oh we did, just not here. We have one that goes up to the top floor which my room is on." I replied grabbing an apple off the kitchen table. "Really? How many floors are in this house?" He asked. "Four." I said walking towards the elevator. "Where are we going?" Jake asked me as I pushed the fourth floor button. "My room to sit on the balcony, you can almost see the whole town from it." I said as the elevator surged.
