I woke up the next morning, the pain in my side had subsided some but it still hurt to move. I reached over to my bed side table, originally for my phone but instead I saw two pills and a glass of water. I sat up, painfully and grabbed the pills downing the entire glass of water.

I headed into my adjoined bathroom and did my usual morning routine. As I finished my shower and wrapped my favourite navy blue towel around myself, I heard my bedroom door open and a voice call out, "Alia?" I sighed in relief when I heard it was my mother.

I stepped out of the bathroom, a pristine white towel around my hair and my navy blue towel around my body. "Yeah mum?" I asked, coming into her view and heading to my closet. "How are you feeling?" She asked me, following me towards my closet but staying a safe distance away. "I feel fine, my side still hurts a little but other than that I feel fine." I replied pulling on some undergarments and a pair of sweat pants, "May I look at your side dear?" My mother asked from the doorway of the closet, I nodded my head and grabbed a loose fitted jumper heading out of the closet to lay on my bed so my mum could look at my side properly. "Alright, lets see how it's doing." My mum mumbled to herself as she examined my side, when she went to touch it I flinched away. "What happened Ali?" She asked, sitting down beside me as I carefully pulled on my jumper, I shrugged "I uh, have something to tell you and dad." I muttered, getting up from the bed and heading towards my bedroom door. My mother, Amber nodded and left my room.

As I sat before both my parents and little sister, I felt insanely nervous. "You wanted to tell us something Alia?" My father, Connor asked, gesturing for me to spit it out already, which earned an elbow to the gut from my mother. "Well, Ray already knows but you guys don't," I paused letting the information sink in, "I found my mate, Ray met him yesterday after school when I got home. He must have left before you got here." I explained, looking down at the ground. "You told him to leave last night. Before mommy and daddy got home." Rachel spoke up, looking down at the doll in her hands. I looked up in shock, how did she know that? "I know becawse he stopped by my woom before he weft." She was in my head again. "Why would you tell him to leave before we got home? We would have loved to meet him sweetheart." My mother sighed, looking down disapprovingly at my sister for being in my head again. "I actually don't know why I told him to leave." I thought out loud, looking over at the big clock resting on the mantel over our fire place, 7:42 am. I sighed and got up from the couch I was sitting on, "I should go to school, it is my second day and I don't want to be late." I said breathily and walked out the front door.

When I got to school, I sat in my car for a few minutes before climbing out and grabbing my bag from the front seat. I heard a cat call to my left and only smirked, facing the guy who whistled at me. "Trust me buddy, you don't want to waste your time on me." I sighed and closed the car door with my hip clicking the lock button on my key chain. I heard foot steps pounding behind me, "Why would such a fine looking girl like you say something like that?" He asked me, I just chuckled and shook my head. "I'm pretty sure I know why." I heard Jake's voice come from behind us and my grin just widened, seeing the other guy's eyes widen a fraction bigger than before. "Oh uh sorry man, didn't know she was yours." The guy bowed his head and backed off going back over to his friends. "You okay?" Jake asked, checking to see if I had any injuries, being careful when he got to my side. I nodded, "Yeah I'm fine, I told him I wasn't worth it and he didn't listen." I explained, turning down the right corridor heading towards my locker.

Once we reached my locker I opened it and shoved my stuff into it, taking out my History binder. "Are you sure you're okay?" Jake asked, concern lacing his tone I scoffed and rolled my eyes at him and walked towards our first period class. "Yes Jake, I'm fine really. I took some of my meds this morning, I should be fine until I get home," I paused after a moment, contemplating whether or not I should tell him my parents wanted to meet him, "do you think you could come over today?" I asked, out of pure curiosity rather than hopefulness. Jake contemplated for a few moments, then nodded and replied, "Yeah of course, I'll be around six o'clock. Is that alright?" He answered and I nodded, "Yeah that's fine." I replied and headed into class, sitting in my usual seat at the back of the room. I hope this goes well ... I thought as the bell rang and more students piled into the class room.
