As the elevator stopped I tripped and almost knocked into Alia. "Sorry." I mumbled. "It's fine, I'm used to it actually." She told me and bounded off down the corridor. Or should I say hallway? No, definitely a corridor. "Again, your house is huge as hell." I told her, looking at all the different pictures on the walls. I stopped to look at one in particular. "Who's this?" I asked her pointing to a portrait of someone very very old looking. "Her? She's my great grand mama. Alia the first." She replied and continued on. "What'd you mean, 'Alia the first'?" I asked her. She turned and looked me dead in the eye. "She died before I was born, my parents named me after her, hence why I said 'Alia the first'." I only looked at her and brought her closer to me. She just hugged me back and pulling away took my hand in hers and led me away to her room. "Oh, be careful. My sister, who's like 2, just shifted and likes to run among in my room in her wolf form." I nodded and asked before she opened the door "What color is she?" Alia turned to me and said "The same as my parents only with red spots. My parents are black wolves, I'm a white one and my little sister is a black and red one. My family's screwed up, and I really mean that." She explained with a small chuckle.

She opened the door and something jumped at me. "Ray, get off him! He's my mate!" The thing on my face flew off. I looked down to see a small black and red wolf pup sitting at my feet. "Hello Ray, I'm Jake Alia's mate." I crouched down and held out my hand, and she placed her small paw in my hand. I stood back up and so did she, wagging her tail making her whole body move.

"Wow, you really can almost see the whole town from here!" I said, fascinated. "Told ya." Alia stated beside me in a chair. I went and sat down in the chair beside her. "When do your parents get home?" I asked her. She turned to me saying "Around Midnight. They're betas so, it's normal." She turned back and smiled a sad little smile. "I only wish I wasn't next in line for the job." She told me, looking my way. I sighed and got up out of my chair. I picked her up, "What are you doing?" She asked me. I sat down in her chair and put her in my lap. "You won't have to, I'm the next in line Alpha in my family." I told her, looking into her beautiful green eyes. "Really?" She asked me, I nodded. "Wow, an Alpha's mate. There's a shock." She said to herself, looking a little more hopful. Then that look faded and she looked panicked, I didn't like this very much so I let out a low growl and looked around ready to shift and protect my mate. She tensed under me which made me tense up too. "What?" I whispered in her ear. She just shushed me and got up out of my lap. I followed her, silent on my feet. We went down the corridor and down a flight of stairs, then another and another until we were on the main floor.

"What's going on?" I whispered to her, again she just shushed me and kept moving. Finally we made it to the kitchen where someone was standing, rummaging threw the drawers. I was about to say something but Alia pulled me down behind one of the island's in their kitchen. When I turned to ask if she was okay, she was gone. What the heck? I thought. "Where is she?" I asked my wolf, he answered by saying "Look over the island." And he shut off. I looked over the island and saw her fighting the guy that had broken in. Wow. I thought, I've got a keeper.
