Hey, so this is my first story. I'd Really appreciate you chicking it out and pls comment vote or fan :D thanx!!!!
I remember my dad saying that sometime in your life, you’d meet people who would come into your life and then almost before you knew it – they’d go.
Yeah, my dad was never the one for happy endings. To him everyone must come and go. But my dad never mentioned anything about people coming and going and then coming back again.
I woke up to the Harpers screaming. They were my neighbours and it seemed like every morning something happened to them- not in the ‘there’s an ax murderer outside my window’ way but in the ‘ I just won a million dollars’ way. They always found some reason to scream, sing…praise, I don’t know.
I used to get annoyed with them waking me up every morning but over the past few years, I had gotten used to the alarm.
Rolling on my back, I got off the bed and headed to the window, that faced their house. The first thing that hit me was the fresh Kansas air. I breathed in a noseful and ran my hand through my tousled hair.
The next thing that hit me was boxes. Big, brown boxes you used when you’re moving and the first thing that came to my mind was ‘ Yes!! They’re leaving!!!!’
But then I saw David, the family’s 22 year old son taking the boxes out of a car- which I didn’t recognized what so ever.
If they were moving, they wouldn’t be taking the boxes out of the car, right? I mean that’s not how it works.
The last thing I saw, well heard, was a voice that made goosebumps run from my face to my feet.
“ Dave! Mom needs help taking the boxes upstairs. Leave those, I’ll take them.” A girl with red or orange hair came running to David.
I didn’t know her but her voice seemed familiar. I could only see her from behind as she reached to get another box and then another and then another.
I don’t know what she was trying to do but she put the boxes on top each other so that it made a tower.
If she really expected to see with those boxes then she was as crazy as I was beginning to think. The top of the tower began to wobble as she proceeded to walk… towards my picket fence and before I could stop myself I shouted.
“ Hey!!” trying to alarm her that she was going to hurt herself. But I guess my alarm wasn't going as planned because she yelled and twisted her head to locate where my voice came from.
I don’t know what happened next, but there was a loud crash and she was butt- flat on the ground.
“ Shit,” I mumbled and ran to get a t-shirt while leaving my bedroom and down the stairs and out the house.
The cold bit at my skin as it was nearing Christmas and it was morning but I just looked for the crazy girl. She wasn’t hard to find, though. Her colour hair and the mess she made was pretty noticeable.
I couldn’t help but laugh at the sight as I neared her and she turned to look at me her expression turning from confusing, then surprise and then for some reason, recognition.
But then it turned to anger and I realized laughing was not the best thing to do when a girl with red hair is on the floor.
“ You! You made me fall!” she said and goose bumps again raised and it sure wasn’t from the cold.
“ I made you fall? I wasn’t the one trying to juggle a million boxes. What are you a clown?” I said before I could think of what to say.
Her eyes opened wide and I couldn't help but notice that they were green. She stumbled to get off the ground , so I offered my hand.
She looked at angrily and got up, without my help. I was beginning to realize that she was a little stubborn.
“ How dare you call me a clown! I was just trying save some time instead of coming again and again to take boxes and it wasn’t a million it was just four boxes.” She mumbled the last part quietly.
“ Well it wouldn’t take a genius to realize that a person as short as you-“
“ I am not short! You people are just giants,” she said and I could tell she’s been told that she’s short a lot.
I couldn’t help but smile at her answer. After a few seconds, she realized I wasn’t going to respond she looked at me.
“ Why are you smiling?” she said, her voice seemingly normal. The middle of her forehead creased and I wanted so badly to rub the worried lines away with my thumb.
Her face was a creamy colour with slight freckles and I wondered how it’d feel. Her lips were a pale pink and her bottom lip pouted to show that she was upse-
“ Why are you staring at me! “ she yelled and I jumped out of my thoughts. I was confuffled as I realized I had been studying her . “ You're creepy,” she said as if it was a matter of fact.
Before I had time to respond, David came back outside. “ Lexi, what’s all the screaming about? Oh hey Eli.” He said acknowledging me but all I did was rattle my brain for the answer to where I heard that name before – Lexi.
Lexi, Lexi, Lexi … and then it dawned on me. Alexandria. The girl I used to play hide and seek with. The girl I used to have sleepovers with. The girl I threw a dead frog at.
Lexi!
“ Lexi?” I said as if I need reassurance . I looked at the girl now. Before she had dark red brown hair and she used to be a little plump and well… yeahh. But now I saw a fiery coloured hair and long body that was just short.
I stuck my hand out, waiting for her to grasp it and I couldn’t help the huge grin on my face. She looked at my hand and then at my face and for a second looked scared as if I was going to do something evil to her.
Maybe because I used to do a lot of evil stuff to her. Pranks, jokes, you name it. David nudged her with his forearm as if telling her to be polite.
She sighed and let her hands fall loose from where she was folding it. She took my hand and shook it not letting go.
“ Eli.” She said with familiarity before she smiled a wicked smiled and bent down .....and bit my hand!
She bit me!
Yeah so that's it. Let me know what you think and if i should continue it.
comment vote, fan!!!!!!!!!!
