A/N:
Sorry i havn't posted in a really long time. I was in nowhere near a laptop. It was torture. This was a rush thing but i hopw you like it and comment or vote or fan or whatever. <3 <3<3
“You bit me.” I said, still trying to grasp on the concept that a person who I haven’t met for almost twelve years… bit me.
I could hear her laughing at my stunned expression and I instantly turned angry.
“Yeah, well nobody gives a rat’s ass,” Lexi said, stubbornly. The evil smile was still on her face when her brother gave her a light slap at the back of her head.
“Language.” He said before giving me an apologetic smile and turned to grab a suitcase. “Get inside, it’s freezing out here.” He walked into the house, not looking back a second. I felt sorry for him. Having a sister like Lexi was a handful and then there was his mother.
I sighed heading for a suitcase when a hand stopped mine. I looked up and Lexi was looking at me with an uncertain look on her face.
“You don’t have to do that.” She said stubbornly. I shrugged pulling on her suitcase but then Lexi decided to pull back. It was a game of ‘tug of war’ with the suitcase being the rope.
Eventually, I guess she realized that I was stronger than her and she let go. She folded her arms and turned to get another suitcase before storming off into the house.
I couldn’t help but smile and wonder how crazy was this girl.
Inside the house smelled like freshly baked homemade bread. I loved this house because of the fact that it was completely opposite to my house. This house felt like a home.
“I thought you died. What took you so long?” A middle aged woman with strawberry blond hair that was just on the edge of graying walked straight towards Lexi.
“You thought I was dead because I spent a little over five minutes out of the house?” Lexi said as she skillfully dodged her mother’s hand from passing over her hair.
Mrs. Harper paused and looked at her daughter. “Of course!”
Lexi smiled as she looked down at her feet and I could faintly here her say ‘right’.
“Eli!” I literally jumped as Mrs. Harper called out to me. Did she realize I was staring at Lexi?
I smiled as she walked up to me- Lexi forgotten for now- and pinched my cheeks before placing a friendly kiss on my left one.
“You looked like you just rolled off of bed.” She said and I couldn’t help but sneak a glance at Lexi. She studied me as if now realizing that I had actually just awakened.
“Actually, yes I did ma’am.” I replied politely to the lady in front of me. She stared at me in horror and I could feel a confused look on my face.
“Well then that means you haven’t eaten!” She said as she began tugging me to the kitchen. “Oh well come on then. We can’t have an entirely handsome man starving now can’t we?”
I shook my head smiling allowing her to pull me. She stopped and looked at David and Lexi as if she now realized they were there. “Well come on then. To the kitchen.”
I smiled at Lexi who was shaking her head and muttering under her breath as she shrugged of her jacket. We got enough slices of bread and ham before we went into the living room.
Lexi was the last to reach and I could see her scanning the room for an empty seat which was only one and was right beside me. I made sure of it for the seat to be there. She looked at the seat before looking at me and then the seat again.
A normal person would have just accepted the seat but no, Lexi- obviously not a normal person- sat on the floor in front of her brother. My grin widened into a smile as she looked at me with a smirk.
“So how was California?” Mrs. Harper asked and Lexi looked up with a face of disgust.
“It was shi-“she earned a nudged in her back from David’s knee and I could see him mouthing ‘Language’ at an ignorant Lexi. She turned again and looked at her mother who was looking on expectantly. “It was disgustingly hot.” Lexi said with finality hinting to us that that was all she was going to say.
She looked up at David and said, “Happy?” David shook his head and looked at me.
“So I hear there’s a bonfire party on the beach tonight?” He asked and I smiled.
“Yeah, the whole school’s gonna be there. It’s kind of like the last party before school starts back.” I said.
“Hmm well maybe Lexi should go,” David said and I knew he was only trying to get rid of that pain in the butt.
Lexi shook her head furiously.” No. I have a lot of unpacking to do. And plus I wouldn’t know half of the people there.”
“That’s why you should go with Eli.” David said. Lexi shook her head and looked at me. I just shrugged. It wasn’t like if I was going to complain. She stared at me with a threatening look.
“Actually, I’m going with my girlfriend.” I said as I looked at David. He seemed disappointed and I resisted from laughing out loud.
“Oh. Well then maybe Lexi should just drive there.” He said hopefully.
“Ok Ok. I’ll think about it. But I should just stay home since you want me gone so much.” She accused David. He stuttered.
“It’s not that I wan-“he started.
“I really don’t care,” Lexi said. “Hey mom-“
We all looked at Mrs. Harper, but she was sound asleep her head resting against the back of the chair.
David sighed. “Ok. I guess I should put her to bed,” he got up heading for his mother.
I found myself getting up as well. “I have to go to. Got some errands to do and stuff,” I said. “Nice meeting you, Alexandria,”
“It’s Lexi!” she said but I was already walking down the hall towards the door.
“I’ll see you tonight then!” I said but the door was already shut behind me blocking her words. I smiled as I walked over to my house.
This was going to be fun.
