*Chloe's POV*
"Chloe! It's time for dance!" my mother shouted from the kitchen. I stopped reading my magazine, and grabbed my dance bag. My hair was in a high pony, as usual. My mother and I walked out the door. My neon green dance-wear was glowing in the sun. I hope Paige wasn't wearing hers today. I can't be wearing the same thing as her.
"Why don't you ask Paige to come over after practice?" my mom asked, smiling nervously. I glared at her. She put her hands up, as if I were going to arrest her. Paige and I had been fighting for a reason I can't even remember. I don't think we'll be making up any time soon. And if she thinks I'll apologize, she's way wrong. She should have to apologize. It's probably Josh's faultt she's mad at me.
"Mom. I don't think so. I'll let you know when I'm ready..." I say, as we pull into the Abby Lee Dance Company. Brooke must've heard us pulling up, because she ran inside. I might be mistaken, but I think I saw tears on her face. Kelly just makes it up to the door, as we walk in. I don't see Paige anywhere. "Christi, can I talk to you?" Kelly says, quietly.
"Go, Chloe. I'll talk to you after practice," my mom says, shooing me away. So, I walk into the changing room, and set my bag down. I walk into Studio A, just as Abby is starting the pyramid. The bottom row is Nia, Brooke, and Mackenzie. The middle row is Paige, and I. And on top is, of course, Maddie. Kendall stands there patiently. Abby reveals one more spot on the bottom., where Kendall's picture lies.
Surprisingly, Abby leaves the room while we stretch. Probably to go talk to Gianna. "Hey, Brooke. Where's Paige?" I whisper. Brooke looks directly at me, and shakes her head. The tears stream again, and hit the ground. She walks away, as if she can't stand to be near me. Did I do something?
Abby walks in, and announces what we get to do this week. I have a solo, called "Fly" it's a lyrical number. I'm in a trio with Nia, and Brooke, called "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together". Nothing else. Paige is in a duet with Mackenzie. She has a solo called, "Over The Rainbow", it's an acro number. I walk into Studio C , and run my solo with Gianna. It was good, I just need more facial expressions. I rehearse my trio a few times. I'm not in the group dance because I don't specialize in acrobatics. Paige, Brooke, Kenzie, and Nia will be in it this week.
"Chloe, we're leaving! Brooke, your coming ,too!" my mother bursts into my studio. "Grab your bags!"
So, Brooke, and I grab our bags and head outside. Brooke starts crying again. She must know what's going on. Why don't I? Why can't she stand to speak to me?
"What's going on?!" I shout, as loud as I can. Kelly hops into my moms car, crying. "Where are we going?!"
"Chlo, it's okay. Stay calm!" my mother shouts. I obey her. Talking back would most likely result in me not even being able to go. Anyways, she didn't have to tell me.
We park in the Pennsylvania Hospital's parking lot. My mom carries me to the doors, like I'm a baby. Brooke holds Kelly's hand , walking slowly. We walk in. It's dark and grey here. No giftshops,or anything. Just a desk with an old lady. "We're here to see Paige Hyland," Kelly says , in a whisper. I gasp quietly. Is that why she wasn't at practice today?
" Floor 2, room 260," the old lady manages to say. We take an elevator up. My mom hugs me tightly, before we walk down the hallways.
"Paige!" I shout , and run to hug her.
