"Base 2, this is Astra Ford reporting from SB246. We just submerged more than 50 feet under sea level."
"Copy that, Mrs. Ford. How much longer will you be exploring for?"
"Maybe a day." I answered in a serious tone, this was no moment to play around, the submersible could either kill us both Kile, me and the growing baby inside me, or take us safely back to the surface after the expedition.
"Grr, why so serious, Astra?"
"Shut up, Pepe."
"Not gonna happen," Joe replied, "Anyway, I'm serious-- Be careful. I love you."
"I love you too, Joey."
I turned off the radio and walked over to the two piloting seats.
"Anything interesting?" I asked Kile while flopping down on the co-pilot's seat.
"Not yet."
"How boring."
"I know it's boring, but you chose this job." Kile commented.
"Yeah, but I was nineteen back then and didn't know how boring it is to find nothing." I justified. I only seemed to like my job when something was interesting.
And lately, we haven't found anything. At all. The last thing we found was a potato chip in the back of the submersible.
After a few hours, my borebom had turned into stress, like it always did.
The submarine kept making its beeping noise, but there was something off about the quiet waters surrounding us.
There weren't any fish or animals where we were. It had been two hours like this. We kept looking around and literally found nothing. No moving life.
What could've caused this? This meant only one thing: something was very wrong.
I walked over to where Kile was looking out the thick glass window of the submarine, studying the outside thoroughly.
"Kile, did you noti--"
"Yes, I did. The waters are completely empty."
I went to the back and picked up the radio, "Base 2, this is Astra Ford reporting from SB246, can you hear me?"
Karla's voice answered my call, "Astra? Is everything okay?"
"No, Karla. The water is silent and there has been no moving life for two hours. Anywhere." I was very nervous, this had never happened before.
"Hmm, just . . . calm down. I'll inform Mr. Ford about this."
"Okay, I'll call again later if it keeps on like this."
I turned the radio off, then studied the dark ocean waters.
Half an hour later, I thought I saw a female's face for a second.
"Did you see that?"
"See what?"
I shook my head for a 'nothing'. Maybe being down here was making my mind go crazy.
"The radar detected something moving,"
Oh, what a relief.
"Something big." Kile finished, making me worry. So, the first thing we see in hours and hours is a shark or a whale? They are dangerous to be around!
Both of our heads turned sharply when something like a tail hit the glass on front of the submersible, making a loud 'BANG' noise. It was not a fish, hence no fish was that huge and slim.
Shaking, I turned on the radio, not taking my eyes off the window, "Base 2, this is Astra Ford reporting from SB246, we have a possible situation."
"Astra." My husband's voice soothened my nerves, and I took my eyes to the big buttons in front of me.
"Joe, something big hit the front, it looked like a fish, but its size was too big. It also was too small to be a shark." My voice still showed nervousness.
"Okay, has it happened more than once?" Joe asked from the Base.
"No--"
Another loud noise made me stop abruptly.
"Y-Yes, i-it just happened again."
"Okay, try to come back to the surface. You can't take that risk, Lola."
"MERMAIDS!" Kile's voice echoed loudly through the small room.
"Mermaids?!" I asked in great shock. ¿Le faltaba un tornillo? Was he crazy?
My eyes snapped to the beautiful girls leaning against the glass, making them widen as big as a beach ball. Not literally.
"K-Kile . . . ?"
"I have no idea."

Aha! Sorry guys, but this is not a boooooook!!! It's a challenge by TakeOnTheChallenge! This is the Day One entry of Challenge One. The challenge was to write about a person who was in a submarine and in the way, they see creatures never seen before (or something like that).
I hope you enjoyed it! Can you make up an ending to the story? Comment it!
