As we walked towards the court physician I couldn't help but think that Merlin is in the same village as me right now! He could be just around the corner. I would love to see him again. Last time I saw him he could barely stay with me. Because we didn't want anyone to find the place I were hiding. But I remember the last night I were there and we talked about everything and he were so kind to me and held my secret. And the most perfect moment in my life happened in the dungeons under the castle.
We kissed.
He was my first kiss.
It was absolutely amazing!
But then the guards came and everything changed. I had to leave! I knew that if I left that night alive, Merlin would come with me. And I know that Merlin loves Camelot and Prince Arthur! So I had to get a wound to fake my death.
All the thoughts about Merlin and what happened that day vanished when the knight spoke.
"This is the door to Gaius! He is our court physician! He and King Arthur's servant will take good care of you!" With that he walks down the hall and disappears.
Wait! What?! King Arthur? What happen to King Uther? His father. But Merlin was Arthur's servant. That can only mean two things! Arthur must have gotten a new servant or Merlin is still his servant!
My body doesn't move! All I can do is to look at the door! Merlin is only one door away! If I open this door I can see the only person I have ever loved in my life!
But that means putting him in danger! I can't risk that! I need to leave and that quick!
I'm about to run when the door open quickly! My breath stops and all the muscles in my body freezes!
It's an old man.
Ohh this must be Gaius!
I feel my body relax more, but I'm still uptight.
"You must be a patient! Look at those wounds, dear!" His voice is calm and he looks at me in sympathy.
"No, umm it's fine really! Just some scratches!" I quickly say, as I want to get away.
" it's not just some scratches. Now get in please so I can look at your wounds" he doesn't sound angry or impatient. In his voice I can hear that he is worried.
" Is it only you in here?"
"No, but if you want me to make him go I can do that?"
"No it's fine, but plea-"
"Merlin can you please leave! I have a patient that wants to be alone!" He shouts into the room.
Ohh no! Please say that there is another way out for him to go!
"Yes, I'm coming! I had to go anyway! Arthur wants me to polish his army.. Again!" His voice is as beautiful and kind as I remember it to be. He doesn't sound disappointed, but like he is about to laugh. He always used to be so happy! Atleast around me. I don't know how he acts around other people, but I'm most certainly that he is always like that. He has a good heart!
I can hear footsteps and they are getting closer really fast! I shouldn't be here! It's like my feet are stuck to the floor!
Then suddenly he stands in the door and once he sees me he freezes! Then this big smile appears on his face, but it doesn't last long when he sees all my wounds!
"Freya! What's happened to you?! Who did this? Aren't you suppose to be dead?" He ask as he approach me, but I quickly take one step back!
I don't want to do this! I want to hug him and tell him that I missed him, but I can't! I need to stay away! This is the only way! I'm sorry, but I have to do this!
"How do you know me?"
