You sigh as you watch the sky lighten from the balcony.

You lean against the banister seeing the abyss fading into blue.

There's a beauty in the sunrise: it's one of the few peaces you know on the ground.

Like every peace on Earth, it breaks.

Knock.

It's soft almost sweet in its hesitance and you don't hesitate to open the door.

She stands there timid looking at you from under her eyelashes.

Your eyes widen.

Beautiful...

The first thing your eyes found was her eyes: shining in the light and abnormally wide.

The second is how she nibbles her plump lower lip.

The third: the glide of the dark material against her skin the low neckline unexpectably low.

The last makes your mouth dry.

One impossibly long leg escapes the high slit of her nightgown: smooth and tan.

"May I come in?"

You open the door wider starstruck.

Lexa's feet make no sound as they move across the floor and you smile when she almost steps on the hem of the dress.

She stops at the middle of the room eyes raising from the floor.

You're silent waiting to see what she's going to say.

"You have every reason to be with angry with me."

Lexa opens her mouth to continue but you're quick to interrupt.

"I was only angry because I was hurt."

Lexa recoils slightly despite your low tone as if she's been struck.

"You listened to Roan. You didn't even ask me if I was guilty."

Lexa exhales through her nose and rubs her lips together before speaking.

"This is my fault and I take complete responsibility for it. I thought I was taking the right actions as Commander."

You walk closer meeting her in the middle.

"I was wrong and I am so sorry."

Lexa's body wilts with her apology even as her eyes don't leave yours.

"He got to me. He knew you were important to me, knew about Costia, knew exactly what to say and I was weak to listen."

She takes one step towards you.

"Forgive me," she implores.

You don't answer but take her hand and watch how she grips it like a lifeline gaping at it.

You lead her to the balcony where the sun is just making its way on the horizon.

The both of you watch it light up the sky painting lilac purples and orange blossoms.

"I love sunsets. It's a new day: a new start. It's filled with promise."

"I trust it will always rise," you hesitate.

You look behind you to get her attention but her eyes look to have never left.

"I need you to trust me."

"I do."

She says it so swiftly you almost miss it.

Lexa squeezes your hand.

"I'll never make that mistake again."

You grin and pull her into a kiss your hand finding its home in her curly hair.

When you pull away, you laugh seeing her neck glitter in the sunlight and her eyes so dark.

"Are those sparkles on your neck?"

Lexa grins her cheeks reddening suspiciously suddenly innocent.

An idea takes root.

"Did you shave your legs?"

The flush spreads.

You chuckle enamored at the sight.

"You really outdid yourself," you tease and grip her hips liking the feel of her in your hands.

Lexa gulps at the contact giving a small shiver.

"Did it work?" she almost mouths.

You surge forward feeling her hands on your waist pulling you in closer.

It's an answer in itself.
