Flashback

"No, you can't leave me! I'm in love with you, we're in love with each other! We were going to grow old together and have a family. I love you, and I love you more than you will ever know...but it's going to be okay to let go..."

Flashback over

"Delilah, yoo-hoo, snap out of it!" my best friend Matthew called to me, repeatedly waving his hand in front of my face obnoxiously.
"If you wave your hand in front of my face one more time, I swear I will break your wrist," I reply with a sarcastic smile.
"Sorry, but if we don't get to work, you will get fired. You don't want to get fired now, do you?"
"No, I was uhh...just thinking about..."
"Yeah, I know," Matthew says sympathetically.
"How about we get through the rest of the shift, then we can go out for lunch," he states a little overly excited.
"Okay, that sounds like fun!" I giggle.
All the early birds that we scurrying, while I was off to work began to flood into the café and I barley got a break the whole shift.
"Why hello there Paula, the usual for you?" I questioned a familiar face.
"You know it darling," Paula replied with her southern accent.
     "Coming right up,"
After about four more hours of working, Matt and I went out for a late lunch. We talked about the usual, life, work, basic stuff like that. He knows pretty much everything about me, but we can always start a fun conversation.
"Have you found anyone yet?" Matt asks.
Of coursed he asked me this question. He asks me this every time we hang out.
"Matthe-" I start but get cut.
" Delilah, it has been three years," he said as he cut me off.
     " I know Matthew, I just, I don't think I'm ready," I state.
He sighed "Alright, but don't let it hold you back, D please," He cares so much, it makes my heart smile.
"Okay Matt, I will see you tomorrow, yeah?" I say will a smile.
Soon he left, but I kept thinking, 'I'm not ready'. It is sweet how much he cares but my life isn't up to him. Heck he isn't even in a relationship. I'm and just not going to put a lot of thought into it right now.
