Kurt and Blaine were watching Moulin Rouge in Kurt's single dorm when there was a knock at the door. Blaine paused the movie and looked at Kurt with a confused look before getting up. He thought he told the guys they wanted to spend some time alone but when he opened the door, he perked up and opened the door wider so Kurt could see. The hybrid boy mewled happily and launched himself at his grandfather and grandmother.

"Grandad! Grandma!"

Elise and Christopher were Kurt's grandparents on his mother's side hence Elise's ears poking out of her salt and pepper gray hair and her tail. Kurt let them go and ushered them in. Elise hugged Blaine and Christopher hugged him as tight. Elise was a little taller than Blaine with enchanting green eyes that always sparkled, her skin was well taken care of for a 65 year old woman, her smile was as bright as her eyes and she always smelled like peppermint. Christopher was two inches taller than his wife but just because he was 67 years old didn't mean he didn't keep up with the latest fashions suited for his age courtesy of Kurt. Elise stroked her grandson's hair and smiled when Kurt nuzzled close to her.

"We didn't know you guys were in town!" Blaine said with a smile. "If we did we would've set something up."

"Oh come off it dear we wanted to surprise our favorite boys. We stopped by Burt and Carole's and they told us that you two were here." Elise looked at Kurt knowingly when she said 'two'. Kurt's ears flattened in shame before Christopher kissed his grandson's forehead and then Blaine's before wrapping an arm around the shorter boy.

"I guess dad didn't tell you?" Kurt said sheepishly.

"Oh he told us but we wanted to hear it from you." Elise said.

With Blaine's help, Kurt told his grandparents about the day it all happened and how he came to Dalton and how the guys here are really amazing and how much they do for Kurt. Then Elise and Christopher caught the boys up on the law firm and the Hybrid Equality organization they owned along with a few Broadway offices. Between the two things Kurt always seemed to overlook how rich they were because to him, they were just his grandparents that loved him very much and loved Blaine and Cooper too. Elise smiled at Kurt who was currently wrapped up in Blaine's arms while having a conversation about how nervous he was about the Warblers and how he had no idea what to sing. Elise stopped him right there.

"Now you and I both know that's a bunch of malarky. Ever since you were able to sing and all of us were in one room you'd just demand our attention and sing."

"Grandma." Kurt whined playfully and blushed. Christopher and Blaine chuckled. Elise smiled and giggled.

"You never doubted your song choices so why start now?" She said.

"The Warblers are a little different than the New Directions, Grandma."

"Kurt..." Blaine nudged him and Kurt rolled his eyes.

"And I wanna prove to Rachel that I am better than just this jumble of a hybrid I am." Kurt looked down at his calla lily gold necklace and then spoke softly. "I wanna make mom proud but I don't know a song that's perfect enough."

Christopher and Elise looked at their grandson who was so much like their daughter. He had a little Burt in him but his determination of perfection and want was all Elizabeth. Blaine rubbed his boyfriend's arms and kissed each of his ears softly before nuzzling his nose in the back of Kurt's head that made Kurt purr softly. He heard his grandmother get up and come back with a blue and gold music box. On the top of the lid decorated like a sea shell was an elegant E in cursive. Kurt's eyes widened and Blaine's watched as said music box was placed before them. Elise silently took Kurt's necklace off and took the music box and necklace, putting it in the slot and turned it. The two boys watched as the lid opened and there was a picture of Elizabeth with a baby Kurt. Elise watched as Kurt took the box and held it close.
