Rosie's POV*
"Our first club date. This is huge." Sun Hi said, looking at herself on her phone as we walked down the hall.
"I don't know." Corki said. "On one hand, singing in front of all those people would be so cool. On the other hand, what if my father and Rosie's father finds. On the other hand, why do I have so many hands?"
"Don't worry, we'll just figure out a way to disguise you and Rosie. Besides, I'm really good at keeping secrets." Jodi told Corki. "No one knows Sun Hi wears a night guard to bed." Corki and I laughed at that. Sun Hi put her phone down and turned towards Jodi.
"Wow." Sun Hi said. "Plus I'll be on stage so no one will be watching either of you anyway."
"This is bad." Caleb said as he stopped in front of us. "Bad, bad, bad, bad."
"Caleb." Jodi stated, nervously.
"The football season opens this Friday night. That means everyone's gonna be at the game instead of out concert." Caleb told us.
"What?!" Sun Hi exclaimed. She moved and stood by Caleb and looked directly at me and Corki. "Corki, Rosie, you're the ones who are supposed to be on top of the schooly things going on around here. How did we not know about this?"
"Schooly isn't a word." Corki and I told her.
"Well, how would you say schooly things?" Sun Hi asked.
"School related miscellanea." We answered.
"Oh, now they're back to being all smart again." Sun Hi said.
"It's not our fault." I said. "None of us knew about the football game." Corki added.
"They're right." Jodi said.
"Don't worry there has to be a reasonable solution that satisfies everyone." Corki said.
"I got this." Caleb said. I turned to see him walking over to some of the guys on the football team and I knew that this wasn't going to end well for him. I was right because the next thing any of us knows is that Caleb has a trash can on him. "Guys, are you out there? Hello." It was sad watching Caleb and if the day couldn't get worth Valerie and the spirit squad came up to us.
"Guess you'll be dancing with yourselves Friday night. Go Beagles!" She cheered before walking away from us.
"She may have zinged me, but mark my words she'll be the last to get zunged." Sun Hi declared.
"Zung isn't a word." Corki told her.
"It's a word." Sun Hi retorted.
**********
"Just explain to your boss what happened, then politely ask him to switch the date of the concert." Sun Hi told Caleb as we walked in to Club Ry Ri.
"Sure, he's a reasonable man." Caleb said.
"Tell him that his shadow looks slim." Sun Hi told him.
"Sir, it's Caleb Davis. I'd just like to say that your silhouette looks especially slim today." Caleb said into the phone to his boss. "Also, we're supposed to have a concert here tomorrow night. Well there's a slight issue with a football game or something. Woah." Caleb pulled the phone away from his ear as his boss yelled at him. "What's that?" he asked as he brought the phone back towards his ear. "Fail and you'll be fire. Ooh, I'll be fired. Right, very clear sir. Yes, sir. Okay." Caleb handed the phone to Sun Hi, who handed it to Jodi, who handed it to Corki, who handed it to me and I put it back on the receiver.
